It became something of a proper meme when various Bungie employees began hiding it part way into various conversations similar to what I did with Cody recently. Then the community picked up on it... and now there's a shirt.

FTFY. Guess it wasn't burned into your head as well as you thought. :P
Also, keep in mind that that was a strike that everyone hated getting early in Year 1, and usually meant that someone was going to Orbit, so hearing Zavala start the speech induced plenty of groans.
