FYI Out for surgery (Off-Topic)

by CougRon, Auburn, WA, USA, Thursday, February 06, 2020, 13:50 (1752 days ago)

Guess I'm not going to be around for a few weeks. Doctor has decided I need surgery on my foot to remove infecte tissue and he wants me to go to a rehab afterwards for at least three weeks. I've been in rehab before and I doubt I'll be able to find a way to use my xbox while in there so I'm on forced sabbatical in the meantime. I'll probably still be around here (ipad, yay!) but no gaming. shame, i've been into minecraft again lately and this would have been the perfect time to get a lot of minecraft in.

Damn, man, that sucks. Hopes for a speedy recovery. It occurs to me that there are a fair number of iPad games, maybe this is a good time to sort out the fun ones. :)

Yep. Get the Apple Arcade free trial and you’d be set for a long while. I’ve been really liking a lot of them while I could not game on a tv.

Best wishes for the surgery/recovery

Good luck! Hope it goes well!

Oh, sorry to hear that. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it without any additional problems! It sounds serious, so I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and asking my family to send their prayers. As for Minecraft, there is a mobile version called the Pocket Edition, though that's probably not as "good" as the console stuff. Not at all surprising considering that it's been ported to every single device known to man, literally including the kitchen sink. XD

I’m not sure I can share my Xbox world with the iPad if I bought it the minecraft version for it. They’re both bedrock (pocket was renamed when it was brought to the console replacing the original on the Xbox) but I play the beta too (living on the edge) and I’m sure the ios version won’t play that. Plus I left my elite controller at home, I didn’t think about my ability to use Bluetooth to connect it (never used it) which I’m sure is the only wat I could comfortably play it.

...or maybe Chinese?

If not, maybe you can treat yourself when you get out.

Feel better soon!

I tried. No go.

Oh gawd, I did that once and man, it was just insane. I definitely shouldn’t have done it, especially considering I was in the hospital for my fucking heart, but it was an impulse that was out of control. (If it is any consolation, I ordered spinach and pepperoni) I ordered it late through the app, snuck out of my room and met the delivery guy at the entrance. Then I shamefully indulged myself in the empty cafeteria. I’ve worked off those pounds, and I do regret it to this day, but if nothing else I still smirk at the dirty little secret that I pulled off, without a single soul knowing.

You’re probably out by now, but wait until you get home. It’ll be sweeter then. ;-)
