tl;dr:

-Year 4 will finally have more than the bare minimum of effort put into the loot variety - with Crucible, Trials, Gambit, and Strikes getting their own new armor sets for Year 4. What What would have been the season's Eververse-exclusive loot will also be obtainable throughout the game as "aspirational" loot.

-A transmog system will finally be added to the game. And you'll be able to convert armor into Ornaments for real money (or serious grind).

-Trials maps are randomized.

-Bright Dust acquisition will become more account-based.

-Titans have officially won first place in Guardian Games, Hunters' single-day win has given them second place, and despite doing better overall than Hunters, Warlocks get bronze on technicality. So it goes in a half-baked Bungie event (who could have foreseen?).

-Guardian's Heart is ending soon (May 12). Bungie hit their $700,000 goal!

-Final Iron Banner next week. The Stag bow will not be returning after this season.

Each Season we will deliver an aspirational pursuit for armor. We haven’t done this consistently in Destiny 2.

...like the armor and weapons you've tied to every single season since Forsaken?

Going forward, Aspirational Activities will reward players with power, items, and vanity.

So, weapons, armor and I can only assume shaders. What's new.

When we build an Aspirational Activity it will have at least one accessory to pursue.

The ship, then.

The team is working on Adept Weapons for Trials of Osiris.

Because Trials doesn't have enough cheaters.

Destiny’s next Raid will have brand new Armor, Weapons, and Exotic Accessories to pursue (no spoilers).

(No shit). Every single raid that has ever been created since the Vault of Glass had brand new Armor, Weapons, and Exotic Accessories. Jesus.

Beginning in Season 12, we will no longer be selling ships, ghost shells, sparrows, or armor ornaments in Eververse that are visually based on themes from Aspirational Activities.

Right.

We are adding a new set of Armor for the core playlists (Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible)

Thorium Holt, Ancient Apocalypse, and Wing Theorem. Deja Vu?

We will create new sets like this each Year (e.g., Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, etc.)

So now instead of making sets for every season, you're gonna make sets for every four seasons. Well, less clutter for the Vault.

Dude, did you even read the TWAB?

Yes, every raid has had armor for it. No, it hasn't been new - the lairs and Garden of Salvation all used reskins.

And the (new, not reskinned) armor they're tying to each season is NOT going to be season-pass or Eververse armor. It's going to be earnable.

These are substantial changes. They might not matter to you, but they matter to a lot of people. Feel free to disapprove, but if you're going to mock, at least know what you're mocking.

Just as illustration...

Here are 3 of the top 6 posts on Reddit's DTG, when sorted by 'hot' (the other three are a pinned TWAB discussion, a standard Friday megathread, and a discussion about the possibility of playing through the campaign again):

To all those complaining about the game and eververse... Thank you. It seems like it's working.

Bungie, you’ve been nailing it with the communication and listening to the community the past few weeks. We should continue this level of transparency, even if the game is in a really good spot.

Bungie, the planned changes to Eververse will not make you tons of money itself, but it will keep your players happy. Thank you

Bottom line - the community seems pretty happy with this TWAB. I think you might have misjudged it.

In terms of this, I was referring to the open world/end game armor that changes each season; the stuff we get millions of. Tangled Web, Substitutional Alloy, Philomath, Prodigal, etc. As for the other seasonal gear(Seventh Serpah, etc.) I thought that was available through the corresponding activities, like the Tower/Bunker.

These are substantial changes. They might not matter to you, but they matter to a lot of people. Feel free to disapprove, but if you're going to mock, at least know what you're mocking.

Honestly it does matter, but it's hard to remain patient when everything they say sounds exactly the same, even though they're promising something different.
"High power activities will now reward items and power"?
What the hell kind of mollification is that?

I'd hold so much more respect if they'd just cut the crap and speak to us like people instead of press conferences.

We haven’t had new versions of any of the world drops since Forsaken, and Shadowkeep added one set and brought back some year one stuff.

It’s a complete turnaround of what they have been doing since Shadowkeep, where they directly stated end game stuff is for Power, the Eververse is for cosmetics.

I'd hold so much more respect if they'd just cut the crap and speak to us like people instead of press conferences.

No disagreement here. Those changes sound good. I stilly fully expect them to Bungie it up and give us some half-baked changes that probably break a bunch of stuff and give us 8 more Telesto glitches. I truly hope I’m wrong, and it all sounds like basically exactly what I want on paper.

They haven’t. We haven’t had aspirational armor since the last raid in October. EDIT: Trials armor, duh. So we went two seasons without any.

Going forward, Aspirational Activities will reward players with power, items, and vanity.

So, weapons, armor and I can only assume shaders. What's new.

When we build an Aspirational Activity it will have at least one accessory to pursue.

The ship, then.

Yeah, that’sa huge deal. Instead of buying the gear that’s obviously Pit of Heresy themed from the Eververse, you’ll get from playing Pit of Heresy. (They specifically said you won’t for Pit of Heresy, but with future activities you won’t see dungeon themed stuff in Eververse.)

Destiny’s next Raid will have brand new Armor, Weapons, and Exotic Accessories to pursue (no spoilers).

(No shit). Every single raid that has ever been created since the Vault of Glass had brand new Armor, Weapons, and Exotic Accessories. Jesus.

Have you ever played either of the Leviathan Lairs or Garden of Salvation. Those armor sets aren’t brand new.

Beginning in Season 12, we will no longer be selling ships, ghost shells, sparrows, or armor ornaments in Eververse that are visually based on themes from Aspirational Activities.

Right.

See the point about Pit of Heresy above.

We are adding a new set of Armor for the core playlists (Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible)

This is something people have been asking for for basically the entirety of Destiny 2. Yearly vendor refreshes is a pretty good thing. I’d much rather see three new sets a year that I can get but just playing the activities instead of one set and an ornament I can get each season by grinding out shitty bounties endlessly. Also, I bet the seasonal sets don’t disappear anyway.
