How to catch up (Destiny)

So, I don't even know what I don't know with regards to what is happening story wise. Even with Forsaken, I read very little lore because I didn't want to grind.
Even though I have no interest in playing the game, I do have a small interest in seeing what the story brings. What's the best way to 'catch up' so to speak? Are there good youtubers who just lay out the story?
