My understanding was that the Beta was early 2014, and that the game's release would be in the Spring. I took "Spring 2014" (which appeared in the Moon trailer by itself) and "early 2014" to mean two separate things. Was I wrong?

No, you're correct. I think they edited it, as this is what Facebook looks like for me:
