Do we know that was the Traveler though? I mean, it's very likely. The correlation between the Traveler arriving and then Guardians started popping up, sure.

Actually Light-enhanced people and effective immortality via ghost respawns eventually leading to Gaurdians started after the fall and the end of the Golden Age. We can be fairly certain Our abilities are Travellor derived simply because we lost them when cut off by Ghaul. It is curious though, why then? The Travellor had been hanging out around humanity for centuries.
