Slightly unsunset weapons/armor (Destiny)

If you didn't notice, Bungie has been upgrading all your items to the newest power base each season now, which is a good thing.

What i just noticed TODAY though, is they're now doing this to items even if they're capped lower. All my 1050 capped gear and guns is now 1100. The game still says their cap is 1050, etc.

It doesn't make them end-game viable but it does mean all sunset gear is strike-viable again. Interesting band-aid solution to some of the feedback over sunsetting? Prep for their rework of power levels? Thoughts?

it even says the original cap on the items. They're just now above the cap.

Might be a bug?

It's possible, but the patch notes say 1100 is the power floor. So they may mean that literally - nothing can be below 1100 anymore.

In a certain way it makes a lot of sense. We could only *infuse* to 1060 but the power floor is now higher so... Still very surprising. And just speaking for myself, definitely not what people expected.

I actually deleted a handful of 1260 cap guns this morning to get ahead of the curve.

I purged a bunch of Dawning weaps last week in prep.. but I wasn't using them anyway.

And it really only makes the sunset weapons usable in Vanguard strikes -only-. So it's (sort of) making base Vanguard work like Crucible?
