Buildcrafting Evolved (Destiny)

It's probably for the best that they are overhauling mods, but it's also pretty classic Bungie to hear the pleas of "we want loadouts in-game so we can more easily try out all these builds we keep hearing about", and for them to say, "okay so you'll have loadouts, but we also changed everything about the builds you wanted to try."

Heh, I don’t necessarily disagree with that perspective. I guess we’ll see exactly how the monkey paw curled next month, but if it’s as simple (and good) as it sounds, I’ll give them a pass here. Subclasses having inherent utility in builds and for Champions is a much better solution than managing dozens and dozens of mods.

Mods should be additive, but right now they feel fundamental. Subclasses seem to have mostly lost the inherent gameplay loops they used to have, and mods have become the stopgap to fix that. Adding more functionally to the class fragments for some of this stuff is a great direction to go, at least on paper.
