Totally agree. When playing solos, I love the stress free aspect of starting with a free loadout. But then, as you gather gear, I love the stress of potentially losing what you've gained. But, it's ok, because you can start again with a free loadout! But, there's still the gear and blueprints you've gained along the way to building something awesome.

It's the perfect mixture of gain/progression and "I don't want to lose it (but I know I won't lose it ALL)"
