D1 was the abusive spouse you stayed with because the sex was absolutely incredible.

i would agree.

It had a lot of "I can fix her" vibes.

I remember my first playthrough having fun but not really excited. You get this vibe that no one has traveled off Earth in forever (I don't know if that's true, but that's what it felt like). Then I got to the final encounter on the Last Array, I love the music is just jamming and and I'm watching the dish get into position and thinking "alright, this is where the story finally gets going"....and....I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain.

Also, space travel is actually really commonplace, and why did I need to got to all that trouble to set up that dish? and if that one dish is so important, why isn't it protected after that.

Still fun as hell to play. I liked just messing around in the open world and helping randos with public events, or opening the vault of glass for them, etc. But the constant grind and sunsetting weapons and maps was terrible. Why can't i play the Red War? I paid for that, and now its gone. I still play Super Mario World on my SNES, but i can't play the base game of D2. Why piss my money away like that?

I dropped out in 2019 and haven't looked back. I am tempted to buy everything now since its cheap just to finish the story, but I don't know if i have time to play that much and grind away.
