say things like "take 1:03 to 2:03 and merge with 2:45-3:00, color correct as required,"

1. This absolutely will happen.
2. This is an incredibly stupid and inefficient way to control an NLE, let alone color grading.

The number of people who are convinced I want to type out a whole fucking conversation just to get something done. I swear. This backlash can't come soon enough.

Shame about my 401K, though.

I don't know enough about film editing or film editing software to know whether that would be a time saver or not (apparently not). The software I use for designing/modeling buildings and structures is so incredibly clunky that being able to ask it to do things in that style would be vastly more efficient. Heck, even just Claude for Excel is a vast improvement over trying to google how to chain formulas to do some weird data manipulation.
