Agreed, such info has not yet been revealed. I think the closest we've gotten so far is one of the Game Informer videos where it was said that the various consoles' built in group chat features would be the way you communicate with players outside your Fireteam. My reading of it is that there really really won't be cross platform play and probably won't be cross generation play. Still, there has been no official word yet.
