When will the Destiny media blitz begin? (Destiny)
At some point Bungie is going to unleash the full might of its Destiny media power, but when I wonder. I'm thinking somewhere between mid May and early June. And it will be glorious.
When will the Destiny media blitz begin?
This quote was from the BWU on 2/28/14. Take from it what you will. Weather it's the date when we might start receiving more news, or a major internal milestone, but whatever it ends up being, it will be exciting nonetheless.
“Can you feel it?” he asked. “This is my favorite part. These next eight weeks are where it all comes together.”
E3 at the LATEST.

I guess you Beta wait, and see.
I'm actually skipping the beta. I never really participate in betas, but holy smokes is it going to be hard to keep myself in the dark for Destiny. I might just disconnect my internet from July--->September.
Can you resist the sirens call?

Oh wait... that's Borderlands. Never mind.
That said man, Good luck.

Thanks, this is by far the most anticipated/desired game I will have skipped the beta for, so this is uncharted territory for me. Basically I'm looking to go in on September 9 sans spoilers of any nature, or at least as few as possible. I don't mind reading about game systems/general plot overview stuff, but otherwise I don't want to know a thing.
LALALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU!!!!

I don't know if this bit of information changes your view on things, but Bungie has said they are treating the Beta launch as if it were, for all intents and purposes, the full game launch. The story begins with the beta and if I were a betting man, I'd say that your characters progress will carry over (because I doubt they'd make us restart the game like that).

Whoa, that's a tasty tid-bit. Definitely changes the stakes for me. I'd love it if the beta wasn't just a throw-away, although I fully understand that Bungie may not have a choice. For example, what will they do if some exploit is found that in some way breaks the economy (or balance, or leveling, or whatever)?
I am more than ready for this beta. For the longest time I was pretty lukewarm on the whole thing, but my enthusiasm has been growing steadily. I've got a huge game vacuum this summer that I'm counting on Destiny to fill.

While I can understand the logic, I'm going to have to disagree. As has been posted, when the beta is to commence those who put in a beta code (therefore creating a connection with the Bungie web site) will be asked VIA Email to "select your preferred console platform, and given a Destiny Beta download code".
First I ask - What happens if someone plays the beta on an Xbox360 - and then plays the actual release date version on a PS4? Is such a thing even compatible?
Secondly - the very nature of a beta is fluid. I think it much more likely that when Bungie says "full game launch" in this case, then they mean everything is to be tested. Nothing* is held back - as IF it was the full game and not some demo with just a few levels.
They want their baby to sing, this beta is the dress rehearsal.
Then after all is said and done - they are going to have to clean the slate so they can bring the bigger better songs out to play, so that they don't have any incongruity with what they will no doubt learn from the beta.
All that said - if it turns out they are able to carry-over stuff from the beta, I will not protest at all. :)
*but not everything
TL;DR
Don't bet all your eggs in one basket before they hatch. :P
