Raid size (Destiny)
Anyone else notice the number six being thrown around as the size for a raid with this latest round of news? I wonder if that's going to be the standard size or whether it will be variable.
In my mind I was imagining something like 12-15 players for a "raid", but I can see how that could be chaotic, plus you've got the added difficulty of gathering that many people together at once.
However, my creativity really starts churning when you think about the kinds of encounters you could design with 15 players in mind...
Raid size
I think Bungie themselves confirmed they're still working on the balancing, but that it'll probably be around 7-9 max players.
EDIT: I see how it could ambiguous. I was saying Bungie confirmed they're thinking about 7-9 players.

They've also got networking to consider. If Destiny really is using peer-to-peer, 15 players with the appropriate amount of enemies would cause the game to, in a best case scenario, be a bit like playing Halo 3 BTB on the far side of the moon.

I saw the 6 player raid thing pop up in a couple of places, here's one just for reference: "...there are many other multiplayer modes that have yet to be discussed, including a 6-player Raid mode." at http://www.cheats.co/blog/destiny-complicated-end-game-activities/.
I think it would be neat if they tweaked the player cap depending on the encounter, since I'm guessing they aren't going to have all night dungeon crawl instances like WoW had, where a fixed number of players across all encounters made more sense. In Destiny I imagine it will be a lot easier to just "pick up" a group to do a raid, rather than requiring large clans/guilds to do them.
Still, the idea of taking a Raid like encounter and applying it to a first person shooter, so much you could do with it and could really be a really important evolution to FPS PVE gameplay.

Yeah, good point. BTB in Halo 2 was a blast if you could get one where the lag was manageable, but plenty just ended up being a frustrating mess.
FPS Bosses
I'm wondering if they have solved the very longstanding problem of bosses sucking in FPS games, and if so, how.

You have to play candy crush to do more damage to the boss.
I'm out then. For several reasons. :p

With too many players in the mix the amount of enemies you have to throw at the group to keep it challenging just crushes any lone player or players who get even momentarily separated. Also, it's no fun to play an FPS where your every kill is stolen by players 1-14. Keeping sizes very small ensures that each battle is more personal and that each team really has to rely on each other.
BL2 had some pretty fun ones
Granted, lots of sucky ones too.

... and most other games, too. :)
I can't remember what I was playing a few months back, but during a boss battle I couldn't help thinking "why I am I playing variants of the same handful of boss battles I was playing in the 90's?"
Luckily, Bungie showed me some great bosses after Halo 2 (most great boss battles for me tend to be the ones where I don't even notice I'm playing a 'boss') with the Scarabs and Brute Chieftains in 3. Those were/are some of my most enjoyable game experiences ever. If not the most enjoyable!
So I'm looking forward to trolls in the heart of the Moon and spider tanks squashing all my teammates.

I'm on the Raid team. I'm excited to hear what you think when you get to it!

I guess we can find out at E3, right? :)

Awesome, I hope you guys knock that out of the park, it's one of the features I'm most anxious to see.

Yeah, really pumped. This is one of the differentiators that I'm most curious about for Destiny.

It might also be that with 3 classes and 2 focuses per, things start getting redundant with that many players.
