The Fallen speculation on Guardian Radio (Destiny)

I'll have to go listen to that and hear what he has to say. I am always most curious about enemies that mirror human adaptability and ingenuity in fiction. The Fallen seem to be that enemy in Destiny.

I've internally speculated that perhaps the Fallen and Humans once worked together before the collapse. Perhaps the Traveler brought the Fallen (and some of the other races?) along from its previous escapes from the Darkness, and while they were originally cooperating in the recent Golden Age of humanity, major rifts were formed during the stand against the Darkness. It may be they are known as the Fallen, because they were once a noble and good race until they made a deal with the Darkness to save themselves. It must have backfired, though, as they fight against the Hive, which appears to be very closely working with the Darkness.

When enemies are just as emotionally driven and complex as humans, both they and the story become so much more interesting. I always loved that the Sangheili teamed up with the humans in Halo.

I can't wait to see what interesting plot developments Destiny has in store for us.
