Bungie's Destiny Doesn't Support Split-Screen Co-Op (Destiny)
Sorry all. It ain't happenin'.
"Ultimately, you can't build a game to suit every single player out there," Bungie's Eric Osborne says.

I actually wonder if this is partly because of limitations of last-gen. But either way I'm not surprised. With the level of stuff they are putting in splitscreen would be tough to pull of.
That really sucks
I know some sad married couples today.
And sad dads who were planning on forming a fireteam with their kids. Maybe the best I can hope for now is picking up another 360 on the cheap and being able to cross save with the XB1 I was planning on getting. Play with Lil' Blue on the 360s and with you guys on the XB1. No way I can justify two XBox 1's.
I'd buy you another one if I could.

Posted this thinkn' of you Blue. I'll see if I can find any details on saves.

I guess I had assumed it would be something like the Halo games. If one person wandered into another area, then the second player would get teleported there too.

I feel ya man.
I'm wrestling right now with how I'm gonna make this work with Rev(1).
I'm weighing buying two PS4's and two XB1's.
I'm insane.
-_-
Oh and a Wii U. Fucking Nintendo has me wanting one of those now too.

It's all right. Where there's a will (and some spare change in the couch), there's a way.

Bungie's Destiny Doesn't Support Split-Screen Co-Op
I (sadly) never expected it to. Feels like less and less of a priority when the pressure is to look as good as possible for the 18-35 year old cash flushed dude.
Big loss for families and pre-older teens.

My wife and I are now going to have to have two copies of Destiny. More $$ for Bungie, but it makes me an unhappy customer. :/

I remember the time when I could weigh those options, but alas,

Rev(1) is worth it, I'd say. :)
That would have crushed me ten years ago...
... But thankfully I have no real life friends that play video games anymore!
Hurray?

Not... really... There's a way to trick the system into giving you two copies of a game for the price of one, but only if you plan to ALWAYS be online when you play on at least one of the consoles... assuming the Xbox One works the same way as the PS4...
Not sure how the XBONE handles licenses, so I dunno...
+1

Bayonetta 2. I know right? I'm really betting though that it'll get released somewhere else eventually.
Speaking of which, Far Cry 4 has a cool thing
It allows you to invite players WHO DO NOT HAVE THE GAME to play over with you on PS3/4, co-op. That would be a cool sell-point for Destiny, but I doubt Activision and MS would allow it...

But I know what you mean. [whimper.]

Yeah, isn't that awesome?
My god, I love this show

Wonderful 101? Pikmin 3? SM3DW?

Blizzard did this with Starcraft and a couple of Warcraft games, and MS did the same with Age of Empires back when. Halo PC had it too, didn't it?

Son, this game is rated M for mature.
Really?
From what we've seen so far, I haven't noticed anything that would push it past "T". Then again, I'm in the camp that thinks Halo should be "T", so what do I know?

"So what's up with Halo's ESRB rating?"
"Gameplay involves causing your enemies to run screaming in terror while you paint the world with gigantic clouds of their blood."
"But it has a cartoony style."
"There's a scene where the player character removes an object from someone's brain by driving his hand through the guy's skull."

Besides that!

If I said I like watching Star Wars with my kids, you wouldn't bat an eye. Yet in it there's a lot of people getting gunned down, chopped up, and eaten alive. If I say I play a game where the bad guy aliens just fall down after getting shot, suddenly here comes the "it's not appropriate" comments.

I took that as Cody was giving you a reason for why y'all wouldn't be playing split screen. e.g. "Little Blue, we can't play this game together on split screen because it's rated M." Correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. Miller.

I guess blue's kids would pretty much laugh on his face if he said that to them.
Hell, they've played with us a few times. That's a lot worse than your average M rate. :p

Xbox one has a "home xbox" feature that lets anyone in your household play on your purchased content. Is this what you are referring to?
So if you bought and downloaded the digital copy, could you run it on two boxes? Your spouse/kid/friend plays on the "Home Box" that doesn't require you to be logged in, and then you play on another box that is connected to LIVE?
That would have crushed me ten years ago...

you convince him by making him watch you play, then he gets jealous and buys his own :)

Sadly Destiny requires you to be on XBox Live, so that wouldn't work. I do believe however that if you buy two copies you should be able to play on both within the same household with only one subscription to XBL. I could be completely wrong though.

I'm disappointed and displeased; I don't have anyone to play it with, but my younger sister is at the age where maybe she could play it in a year or two, although I would to pick between Destiny and teaching her the fine arts (use of the needler and shotgun).
