Apparently Destiny Exclusive To Sony in Japan (Destiny)
Link to some japanese writing I assume (Anyone know Japanese?)

Apparently Destiny Exclusive To Sony in Japan
This is... troublesome. How do we know that the same can't be done here later down the line? (AKA Altering the deal)
I need Official words for this - but since this is an increasingly "business" matter, I don't expect to get one.

Yeah, we get it the 11th!
It's as official as the sony jp account is. And the blog: http://commu.jp.playstation.com/blog/details/20140617_destiny.html?c=0&t=0&s=0
(sorry, can't translate that wall of text now, maybe later)
Now if only they kindly decide on pricing and confirm if we can get into the beta too...
Interesting
Partly due to Xbox One not coming out in Japan until September?
Or an extra move by Sony to have such a key title as exclusive there, thereby making it extra difficult for Xbox? [And likely wouldn't have to pay too much / some co-marketing in Japan]
Being that Destiny is an extremely stylish Phantasy Star Online turned 3rd person shooter.
Sounds About Right

Japan never really Xboxed anyway.

Because people actually own Xboxes here. The adoption rate in Japan is stupidly low, so it just doesn't make business sense apparently. Plus, first person shooters are not that popular in Japan anyway.

Yes, but that also scores no points with MS for Activision to go along with this. All Activision saves is whatever promotional costs Sony absorbs for getting to treat Destiny like an exclusive, and in return, they get to keep the cycle nice and closed.
If Destiny doesn't sell well, then it was a bad deal. If it does, then, of course, it's just another reason to not bother getting an Xbox in Japan.
I am starting to wonder if there really is any bigger feud going on between Activision and MS at this point, or whether this is all just about Bungie.
