Portion of the expansions dlc exclusive to PS4 for a year? (Destiny)
-I may be misunderstanding what's happening-
This... is kind of troubling, and perhaps it's a thin layer of difference between any exclusive content in the final game and the dlc.
But if what I'm reading is correct, you can pay for the expansions on Xbox, but not get access to all of that expansion's exclusive content [until Fall 2015]?
That's ..
I think of Bungie as a fan and community first company. This is.. not a great way of showing that philosophy.
[I say this as someone who'll be playing on PS4 and unaffected, in a sense]
[I'm not a fan of any pre-order or platform exclusive content, but the difference I see here between the CoD maps on Xbox, is that it's all or nothing, not partial, you've no reason or probably capability to pay for it until you can get it (and a month != a year, but that's a lesser point)]
Where are you reading this?

Here [on Polygon]
"The $34.99 Destiny Expansion Pass, which expands the Destiny adventure post-launch with Expansion 1: The Dark Below and Expansion 2: House of Wolves (which will cost $19.99 individually)
PlayStation platforms will also include additional exclusive content for Expansion 1 and 2 and will remain exclusive until at least fall of 2015"

That says to me that content within the DLCs will be exclusive. Not the DLCs themselves. And as we don't know the release date for either of them, Fall 2015 might not be as bad as it seems.
I do not hold out much optimism for this opinion seeing as how the Xbox continues to get shafted, however.

That's (largely) the point I was trying to make in my original post.

I'd like more clarification. If what they're selling to Xboxers is the content that's a year out, that's disingenuous in my book.
I assumed the PS4 exclusives were something else not yet mentioned. I hope I'm right.
EDIT: Now I see based the language in the Polygon article that the DLC themselves are not the exclusive content. That jives with what I thought. Whew!
Geez!
Twin $20 DLC packs... how big must they be to compensate 20 bucks? This is interesting...

Gotcha. Upon rereading it makes more sense now.

It reads like a simultaneous release, and *some* of the weapons/gear, Strikes, and arenas (as we've heard already) remain locked. Though I wonder how that will work. I can hardly imagine the saltiness of players realizing their purchase only enables access to part of the content they've already bought.
Might just be better to release the DLC to Xbox in the fall of 2015.
Neither option sounds good for the Xbox side of the player base.
Very curious as to how that will shake out.

Don't worry dude
Maybe Bungie will have the amazingly lucrative idea of having DLC DLC. Where you can pay $5 extra to unlock the exclusive PS4 content on the Xbox that should have been in the DLC in the first place. What could go wrong??
And I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this became the norm one day.

I'll even give them a tagline.
Yo dawg. I heard you like DLC. So I put DLC in your DLC so you can pay for your DLC and then pay for more DLC.
