Who's going to play the Beta on PS3? (Destiny)
long I've been planning to play the Beta on XBox 360. As I've already mentioned, I have a trip which coincides rather unfortunately with the XBox Beta dates (yes, even the revised ones). I'm leaving on the 24th, so the best I could hope for is to play the night of the 23rd (IF I actually manage to get a code and download the first day).
I do own a PS3. I'd never considered it because I have no one on my friends list on that platform, and because I think the PS3 controller is awful for an FPS. But, if it's my only option...
Edit: I should probably mention that I'm Captain_Zaysh on PSN.

Yeah, it's a terrible controller, which makes me kinda sorta concerned for PS4. But anyhoo, I'll probably be playing on both PS3 and Xbox 360. Send me a friends request!

From what I hear, the PS4 controller is much improved, and it does apparently work with the PS3. Might be worth trying it out that way if you can get ahold of one.

Yeah.
I never hated the older DS controllers as much as some, but they could use concave sticks, and their grip doesn't work well with triggers.
The DS4 has a completely revised overall grip that actually allows you to comfortably use most of what's there, the sticks themselves are concave and have some of the best precision and weight I've experienced in a gamepad, and there's nothing that isn't at least somewhat serviceable. It's got some neat features, like the speaker and touchpad, though these don't feel fully utilized at the moment. The trigger themselves still aren't perfect, but the grip makes up for the majority of their not-as-awesome-as-Xbox-triggers situation.
It is a phenomenal controller.
This guy.
I'll have access to a PS3 for the duration of the beta, at least. Not sure yet if I'll use my buddy's PSN ID or make myself a new one, but I'll be there, for sure. Also on the 360.

Looking forward to seeing those of you who will be playing on ps3!
As far as controllers are concerned, while I never had too much issue with the Dualshock 3 (I actually quite like it as crazy as that sounds), I completely understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea. In regards to the Dualshock 4 however, it is a vast improvement over the 3 in the my brief experiences with it and will be a perfectly acceptable controller for a shooter such as this :)
