Activating DBO in the Bungie Beta

Greetings, people of Bungie.org.

As we've communicated, today is the day in which we plan to enable you to select the console you'll use to play in the Destiny Beta. We're still preparing for the onslaught. I'll stop by personally to let you know when the green light is lit.

In the meantime, is there anyone here who needs a Beta code? I just gave a bunch of them to Duncan the Wise. He's been waiting for Destiny for as long as any of you, so I'm sure he'd love to deal you all in. If you are in need, please respond to this thread with "Give me a Code!" The codes he has are the platform-agnostic ones for Bungie.net, so you need not indicate your console.

You should be aware that each Beta code allows 3 full downloads of the Beta - you can play with your wife/husband/dog/whatever without needing a second beta code!

From B.net, the code redemption page:

"Each code will grant you 3 download keys, enough to field a full Fireteam on the console of your choosing!"

I'm sure there will be plenty of codes to go around, but it looks like we're already running into duplicate account issues and I'd rather see these go to real DBO members first.

No. I don't really need a code. I already have two, had a third one, but I gave it away already, so now its only two. So how did I get these apparently "SUPER RARE" beta codes? Well funny thing really, I followed directions. You see - since October of LAST. FREEKING. YEAR; you have been able to get a code. I went to Amazon, and pre-ordered and got a code. In October. Of last year.

Zoom ahead to the ancient date of July the 7th, Anno Domini 2014, and all the special editions are revealed. I take a moment to decide which one I'm going for - be it limited or ghost. Alas - a day passes and it turns out the ghost version has become extremely rare. O shi- says I. So I check amazon, cancel my original order, and then (at the time of my search) the only version of the "Ghost" I could find was of the Xbox 360. Just in case, I click "Pre-Order". Boom. I got a second code.

The next day I call up my local Gamestop to see if I can still get the "Ghost edition" for the console I intend to play Destiny on. Turns out I still can. I cancel my order on Amazon and Preorder at Gamestop (MIDNIGHT LAUNCH - Woo!).

I check my receipt - no code. /Combo breaker

"Excuse me sir - there seems to be no Beta code on my receipt"

"Oh let me fix that"

Third code. /Rebound. Three points. Crowd goes wild.

TL;DR?

Be right back, have to complain to Bungie about Halo 4. HEY BUNGLE! BRING BACK AMOR LOCK!!!1

If you didn't get a code, don't fret - you're already on the waiting list for one of two reasons:

1. You were explicitly asking for an extra (for a friend or second console).
2. You registered on DBO after DeeJ started this thread.

If I get more codes I'll distribute them to the waiting list first, and if we still have extras I'll reopen this thread for new requests. :)
