Russian radio chatter (Destiny)

While playing story mission 4 on old Russia I noticed some music and Russian dialogue coming from the amplifiers that you have to scan on the forgotten shore, above a very well guarded location.

Any Russian speakers in the house? I'd like to know what is said.

The Secret Doctrine

The person seems to be reading from this work:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_Doctrine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helena_Blavatsky

The work is in four volumes; the quote appears to come from the second, called Anthropogenesis.

Interestingly enough, the same section being read in the clip appears also to have been quoted by an English steampunk author named Mark Hodder, in his work The Curious Case of the Clockwork Man. It's possible that's how Bungie became aware of it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Hodder

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Curious_Case_of_the_Clockwork_Man

The first part seems to be along these lines:

"If, as it is said, the future events are casting their shadow beforehand, then the past events cannot not leave their imprints behind them."

From an English translation of the text, the corresponding phrase reads:

"If coming events are said to cast their shadows before, past events cannot fall to leave their impress behind them."

Look for section 794, near the bottom.

Blavatsky was a major New Age whacko.

Will definitely be looking for more of this when I get hold of the Beta myself.

Found it amusing when the Warmind was named Rasputin

Of COURSE the only surviving Warmind would be named Rasputin.

We've got Rasputin, Charlemagne, was there a third one we've heard about?
