Resistance is futile. (Destiny)
Join us! We just converted the DestinyBungieOrg group into a Destiny Clan!
DBO is now a Clan.
Howdy folks,
I've been pretty quiet the past few days, and for that I'd like to apologize. I'm busy toiling away on... secret things. And stuff. Stop asking questions!
Anyways, if you want to slow-walk through the Beta under a DBO banner, I just activated the Clan functionality for the DestinyBungieOrg group on Bungie.net. Note that there are two options - Xbox and Sony - and pre-existing members of the group will still have to opt-in to each one.
I tried setting our clan tag as "TTL Gunslinger" but after seeing no significant change in my Crucible K/D I switched it back to "DBO". Further tests may be necessary.
Eventually I'll figure out how exactly an Alliance works, and we still have the "DBO" group on Bungie.net for just such a thing, but for now we can at least test out this clan stuff. I hear rumors there's even a Bungie mobile app to try out.
Duncan
Edit: Merged threads.
I would....
...but I already joined the ReadyUpLive clan. Unless you can join two. Which I don't think you can. Haha.
DBO is now a Clan.
For some reason it's showing up as "DestinyBungieO" in-game.
Be sure to eat your DestinyBungieOs!
Edit: oddly enough, Levi and I have DestinyBungieO, but Raga has DestinyBungieOrg.
Traitor!
This is punishable by death, isn't it?
But seriously, multi-clan support would be nice. If not, then at least there are multiple groups.
It's cause my name's longer. *NM*

I have no idea... I just made that up! :p

That's alright. Mine actually is TTL Gunslinger and I don't see any significant benefit to my K/D ratio either. :-P

It's DestinyBungieO for me too.

14 character limit for in-game clan display? That's odd. Chalk it up to Beta maybe? Someone needs to get on the bullhorn to Bungle!~
I'm in!

Hopefully I'll get to show her my DestinyBungieO face.

Thanks for accepting me in the clan! I used to be super active over at HBO, but life with 2 kids got in the way, lol. Anyway, looking forward to playing Destiny with you all!
ugh creepy

Clan disbanded?
I got a notification in my Destiny companion app:
ncsuDuncan
Clan Disbanded DestinyBungieOrd has disbanded their Clan. you will have to join a new Destiny clan
I also noticed the Xbox Clan list was empty except for ncsuDuncan... I rejoined but, I'm confused on what happen
I hit the wrong button.
I was trying to fix the clan tag, as some people were saying it displays "DestinyBungieO" and not the "DBO" I had set it as.
When I first clicked the "Activate Xbox Clan" button, it popped up with a box to enter the clan tag (to which I entered "DBO"). I tried finding that text entry again, but one click on the same Xbox logo - which now happend to have "Disable Xbox Clan" below it - disbanded the clan without any sort of warning dialogue, kicking everyone out. :(
I won't touch that button again.
I still have no idea if the clan tag is displaying properly now, apparently I was an "Admin" but still had to designate myself as a "Member" to use the clan tag - which doesn't update instantly in-game. (Or maybe it's because there were fewer than four members at that point. I dunno.)

A quick check reveals that no, it's not working. It's still only showing the group name. This is starting to get pretty weird.

After selecting Clan from the left main-menu you should see display settings as an option in the banner area beneath the clan badge icon. Select this and you can edit the text directly. Clan name, Clan tag and Motto. Save after obviously.
Here's the weird thing...

On my 'player card' if you like, it shows 'DestinyBungieO.' But in the post-game carnage report, it does indeed display [DBO] beside my name.
At least this was the case yesterday.

The clans interface is terribly confusing — it could really use some work. The button ‘Set as <console> clan’ implies it's changing a property of the clan (the adjacent button is ‘Display settings’) when in actual fact this button means ‘Join clan on <console>’. I've still not found any way to change the clan logo / background header, either.
As always, Copy is Interface.

Clan > Display Settings and they appear on the right hand side of your screen for selection and change.

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

It's been displaying fine for me all along. Which is not to say theres not a problem obviously. It's just weird that its not consistent.

I just joined -- thanks!
It's still showing up as "DestinyBungieO" in the companion app. Not sure about in-game...
