Game Stop: "Bungie's website is broken, not accepting codes" (Destiny)
So I have been trying since yesterday to redeem my beta code from Game Stop and the website says that the code is not a valid format. I just dealt with the arduous process of communicating with Game Stop's phone representatives to have them tell me two things.
- Beta Codes are no longer needed. The Beta can be downloaded for free just by searing for it in the marketplace.
- Bungie specifically told GS that their (Bungie's) website is having issues validating codes. GS recommends I try again tomorrow...
I'll give GS the benefit of the doubt, but if either of the above are true I would be very surprised. I can't find the beta for download on the 360 marketplace anyway. I am just . . . really disappointed in everything to do with Destiny on Xbox right now and I wish that I could at least try it out. The shortened Xbox Beta is getting shorter and shorter for me.
GS said that they could give me another code, but that the website problems would still prevent me from joining. I asked them for the code anyway and when I put it into B.NET it said "This code is tied to a promotion that has ended". *Supersadface*
So my questions are, is anyone else having this problem? And if so, any suggestions or things that you tried?

Well, everything looked good but it fails with another error code and won't download. Maybe I can find it in the Marketplace soon.
Almost wish I hadn't pre-ordered. I would saved myself all this hassle and still probably gotten to play at the same time.

Bungie.net code redemption hasn't ever been "broken", not sure what they're talking about. The site was under heavy load for a while, but that was back when the Playstation beta period started.
As getting the game - it should be working (it took a little bit to spread to all regions, but by now it should be available). However, you have to be using an Xbox Live Gold account on a compatible console for it to work (see the faq), and a trial membership isn't going to be sufficient on the 360. I recommend reading www.bungie.net/destinybetafaq, and if that doesn't help, post on our #Help forum, or contact Xbox Live Support about it.

It definitely sounded like something they were scripted to say. I called twice and both reps very quickly told me that your site was experiencing issues. So . . . I imagine it is something GS decided to say and not just a one off from a rep.

Download worked just fine today, no errors and I should be playing by the time I get home today. Thanks for being awesome by they way. It's great to get a response from a Bungie employee to my whiny forum thread :D
