A thought about Beta carryover... (Destiny)

Plus what is the point of the Iron Banner rewards (like the Level 20 pistol) if we could never use them in the Beta?

I've been looking at pretty much all the gear we collect as teaser previews of things to expect in the full release this fall. I wouldn't mind carrying gear over into September, but I wouldn't mind starting out from scratch again, either.
