"The Hot Zone" -by Richard Preston.

A non-fiction novel about the only stateside Ebola outbreak (Reston, Va.), it scarred me as a child with "The Shadow of Mount Elgon", a section that described a man slowly succumbing to the symptoms of Ebola...

A great read...
