Hm, the Cabal did not look very challenging to fight in these gameplay videos.
Those Psion Flayers, though. Did you see the Hunter unleashing his arc blade on that one? Damage. Sponge.
Still can't wait to play Destiny!

There was the mention of each being vulnerable to specific damage type. I guess even a super doesn't help much there!
I'm looking forward to fighting these chaps.
Randomized enemy placments.

Ohhhhh.
THat vid mentions that the high level units will be randomly placed throughout the level. That brings some interesting new considerations. Is this the first we've heard of procedural enemy placement?
Though, take a grain of salt with this, as the announcer dude sounds pretty clueless.

Sounds like what he says could all be true. It's just edited weirdly so when he's talking about supers they don't match or are not even supers.

Ummm what exactly happens at 2:25? Right after he unloads with the arc blade (doing like no damage), the player jumps over a box and kicks the gas lines out of the cabal's armor? Like an assassination???

That was a Titan's running kick thing. You sprint for a second or so then press melee (I think) and you'll either do a sort of knee charge if you're on the ground or a cool flying kick if you're in the air. They showed it off in that high level Titan video a while back.

Gotcha. I had no idea there were multiple standard melees, that's fantastic!

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's an upgrade ability for the striker subclass. Not necessarily a standard melee.
Correct.

All the Hunters' knife moves are melees in increasingly loose senses of the word, so I guess all the classes have some versions of upgraded melees.

I guess we have it:
Fallen Shields = Arc
Hive Shields = Solar
Cabal Shields = Void

They said the Cabal Psions come in all flavors. I wouldn't be surprised if the other shielded enemies of the Fallen, Hive, and Vex came flavored as well at higher levels.

Correct. I saw Psions in that video that were vulnerable to fire and others to arc damage.
