Counter-pedantic-nazi post! (Destiny)
"The stars are aligned for this game. Literally."
[puts on pedantic nazi hat]
The use of "literally" as a worded exclamation mark is bad enough, but if you're going to make it its own sentence it had better be accurate. The only possible way that is accurate is if it's a non sequitur. Or, you think the moon is a star, and even then a supermoon has nothing to do with alignment, only proximity.
[takes off pedantic nazi hat]Have a nice day :)
On your first point, dictionaries all over already accept "literally" has also become a mark of hyperbolic comments, as opposed to just the original intent.
On your second point, if the Moon were a star, the full Moon would have Sol, Earth and the Moon "perfectly" aligned.
;)
