Enlighten me: Accessing Content on Multiple Platforms (Xbox) (Destiny)
So I've got a quick question, and I'm hoping somebody here will have the answer to it (or can point me in the right direction). We all know Destiny is just days away. I'm super excited, and I'm sure most of you are as well. Anyways, on to my question:
Last week, we got the news about being able to pre-load for Xbox One (which is awesome) but when looking at my options for doing so, I started thinking. Have there been any official announcements regarding content (be it pre-order, early access, or expansions) being available across console generations (but within the same family). I plan on getting the 360 versions for the family (since not everyone has upgraded yet) and a copy on my Xbox One (for friends who've made the jump and don't plan on looking back). I'll be playing a lot on both, but probably more on the 360 (at least until everyone upgrades).
The digital options for the Xbox One include the standard edition ($60) and guardian edition ($90) (which includes the expansion pass and some cosmetic stuff like the ghost shell). If I have that stuff and play on the 360, what happens then? I'm not really worried about the cosmetic stuff, but way down the line when the expansions come out, I'm just curious what might happen. I know a long time ago, when the new systems had just come out, companies were offering the upgrade plans (Bungie said they did not have any plans to share at that time), so Call of Duty had the digital upgrade option, buy it at $60 digitally, make the next gen upgrade for $10 more (and keep both versions versus trading in a physical copy for another physical copy). Plus Call of Duty (and a couple others) had the season pass upgrade option, buy it on last gen and get the current gen upgrade as well. Have they made any mention of a similar program for Destiny.
You guys on the site are pretty good about finding and sharing this information, but since revealing the Destiny pre-load, I've yet to see any discussion on here about the content implications since pre-loading is only on Next/Current Gen. We know that our Guardians are definitely cross gen compatible, I'd like to know about it content wise too. It'd be nice to know, especially if I can somehow get my hands on a Ghost edition.
Any information that could be shared would be greatly appreciated. d^_^b

It's a really good question. We know your Xbox or Playstation profile can transfer fowards and backwards. People did that in the beta. As of yet nothing relevant has been said about the DLC unfortunately. :(
DLC Armor (and a nod to the PS exclusives)

I'm thinking that at least with armor they'll work across generations.
I'm assuming that there'd be a pretty bizarre error if you were wearing DLC armor on the 360 and had no other armor in your inventory and then booted up your XB1 and logged in and tried to play.
This is also likely one of many reasons why you can't transfer your character between PS and XB, that armor wouldn't really be "exclusive" outside of being able to exclusively get it on PS but you can have it on XB.
