All 25 codes.

Neat! I didn't know there were shader codes out there. Thanks! :D

All 25 codes.

One of them is blue, so at least I can be a proper color from the beginning. :)

Don't count on it.

1. You need equipment that will allow you to add the shader in the firstplace.
2.These are legendary shaders which, until proven otherwise, gives cause to conclude that these shaders will require level 20 as well.
Shaders are the one thing I don't like about the armor customization. I would much rather just pick primary and secondary colors. Same thing with emblems. I might find an emblem I like, but if it's not blue I won't use it. That limits my choices quite a lot.

My Guardian isn't an expression of me so long as the colors they're wearing aren't what I want. I was so excited to see I had a blue shader right from the start as it's my favorite color too. I don't want people to see me with some industrialized white, gray, red, orange, or Earth-y colors on my armor. They should see me. What shaders should have been are really special color types like metallic, iridescent, and other stuffs like that.

I have the same problem. I wasn't using the best armor I had in the beta cause it wasn't blue. I don't want to be walking around in red armor. Bleh.
But still, thanks for the codes, blue! I hadn't found those shader ones yet.

I believe the shader codes are some of the ones that are hidden in the physical material that comes with he ghost an Limited editions.
Ah, I see.

Well I guess then this is the start of a long hunt. Not just for gear - but the glory of color. By my count - There is about 10 out of 54 "known" shaders that have any degree of blue in it. Of the 10 three are Legendary, while the rest are Rare.
I guess in-till then you will be blue, in-till you get blue, blue.
I here the moon was nice this time of year. You could watch the trees change from space and everything.

Do you know if any of those 10 are blue and silver? Those are the official Team Bluerunner colors.
Edit: Here's a list. No idea how you can tell what colors it will be since the name doesn't always match the color of the emblem.

I do not know. I have yet to see any picture involving a shader in-game that applied that exact color scheme.

From outside to inside, base colour, secondary, highlight/detail in the centre. I think?

Yeah, that does artificially and arbitrarily limit your choices quite a bit-- or, you must not like those emblems that much if you won't use them. I totally feel you on not being able to just pick colors though. The same for emblems, although I buy that more as an artistic choice than limiting colors, and at least it's not like Halo 4 where you don't even get to have one at the beginning and then you only get to have one for a while.
It's funny, people joked about how next 343i was going to have us unlock armor colors because it seemed like the next step in the path of ridiculous unlockables, but Bungie actually does it and we're not mad, just kind of sad-- that's not something against DBO, I'm not mad either, and I can't really explain why, I would've expected to be, but I'm not.

When have you NOT been able to choose your armor color in Halo? The answer is never. If that option was suddenly locked out, it would make a lot of people very angry because it flies in the face of a system which has worked perfectly well since the beginning. See: Emblems in Halo 4.
Destiny is (no duh) a different, new, game. There's no precedent for any of the customization options. We're starting new, and the new standard is preset, precolored emblems and preset, predesignated shader colors. It's disappointing to be sure, but it's silly to be angry about it because it was never any different.
It took Halo what, four games and ten years to get all the features and customization we loved? I'm anticipating a similar trajectory with Destiny. In ten years we'll probably have all manner of new features this game doesn't, and Guardian customization will probably have exploded. Afterall, we've got armor, Sparrows, and ships. How cool would it be ten years from now to load your ship in the hangar, and GTA style start swapping out parts and painting it? Shaders are disappointing now, but I've got a good feeling they're just the gateway to something better.

That's also a good point, but I'm pretty sure a lot of other games let you pick your armor colors and tons of games let you pick an emblem or some picture to represent yourself without having to jump through hoops, so it would make sense to expect it in that context. Also I said I'm not angry, I just don't know why I'm not.

I have a feeling you're right, but I slightly expected, and very, very much hoped, that since they had worked all that out with Halo, they wouldn't start from scratch all over again, because they know what people want, they have that experience, I would hope they have working code or at least fairly fleshed out pseudocode but that might get into copyright issues... most of all, they had time. They had all the time they wanted, unless they cut an unwise deal with Activision. (Also, I really don't want to wait ten years for this stuff, I would hope it would be in the very next game.)

Chalk it up to them trying something new then. Or take Cody's side and call it one of Tyson Green's horrible Investment System decisions.

Time? I think Duke Nukem Forever showed us what "all the time they wanted" gets you. Deadlines are good. Deadlines mean things get done. Deadlines mean you have to make decisions. Yeah, they know people want Forge, and Custom Games, and Films, but this isn't Halo 2.0, or even Halo 10.0. Destiny is an entirely different animal, built, I have to assume, largely from scratch and definitely from the ground up, to be a thing Halo never was. That means a literal ton of new systems had to be built and tested. Systems that take priority over old luxuries because they're Mission Critical. You start with your Must Haves, then you build your Wish List. Maybe all those old luxuries were on the Wish List. Maybe they had to be axed because the resources being devoted to them needed to be reallocated. Maybe with the time remaining to work on Wish List items it was infeasible to develop solutions to integrate our old favorites.

or I could just call it a bad decision, without acting like it's any more or less bad than I actually think it is

Please, the problem with Duke Nukem Forever was bad management.

That's a really bad approach to almost every kind of big project though. You shouldn't start from scratch unless you have to. That makes me think they either didn't and there were other problems (like multiple game-crashing or feature-breaking bugs), or they had to (it could be because Microsoft owns the code and maybe even the code-independent algorithms they came up with during their run with Halo, or because they're working on three systems that are new to them and they want feature parity, or a host of other things).
Are shaders one time use?

Speaking of shaders, I don't remember seeing it anywhere, but are they one time use, or once you acquire a shader, you have it and can re-apply it at will?

Unless proven other wise, based off a recent post from urk, once you have bought something such as a shader or emblem, it's yours. If you need to get it again, it will be there.
Technically, urks post is in relation to the special orders vendor, so flaw noted.

I kind of thought he was only talking about special rewards. You can purchase the same weapon more than once, and it will charge you each time separately.
Obviously Weapons =/= Shaders, but there is precedent for being charged multiple times. Ships, which are purely cosmetic (like Shaders), behave the same. Makes a certain amount of sense - Don't want people buying an item once and giving it to all three characters.

I get the impression that the way it will work is that you can have 9-10 different shaders currently in your character's inventory (and some other amount in your vault) and you could freely swap between which is active at any time, but if you ever discard a shader from your inventory/vault and go to buy it again, sure it'll cost glimmer again.
Similarly, you could put a shader (or other item) in your vault specifically for the purpose of giving it to one of your other characters (but if course it could only be active on one character at a time unless you bought multiple copies).

They are equippable items, they have their own slot. You can change between them as you please, just like any other item.

I re-watched a few YouTube videos specifically trying to see how many slots there are in that part of your inventory... I think I saw 9 shaded (empty) boxes plus the one active (default) shader -- so that's where I am getting the 9-10 number I am assuming you can actively have in your inventory.

All 25 codes.
