Queen of the Reef speculation *SP*

So based on the September event announcements, it looks like we'll be seeing or hearing more from the Queen of the Reef.

For those of you who haven't followed up on all the relevant Grimoire cards, the Speaker and the Vanguard Guardians warn you several times that the Queen is eventually going to ask you to do something in return for her assistance with the Black Garden problem. It's also explained that she killed the Kell of the Fallen House of Wolves, who now serve her.

We already know the House of Wolves expansion is on the way at some point. What makes this particularly interesting to me is a little bit of dialogue you can pickup when idling near the Speaker in the Tower. He mutters something like "She's a fool to think she can control the Wolves". I'll post the exact quote or a clip when I can jump on and grab it.

My predictions for the future are that the Queen's Wrath event will see us 'repaying our debt' I would have guessed she'd send us after the House of Winter to punish them for breaking the House of Kings archon priest out of her prison, but we already kill the Winter Kell. There's not a lot of information about the House of Kings in the Grimoire, so maybe they show up in the event?

Beyond that, I think the fact that we have an expansion titled House of Wolves suggests the Speaker is right and the Queen loses control of her Fallen. Maybe we'll get to actually play in the Reef or the outer planets?

I think you're on the right track with the Queen losing control and us having to save the Reef. Perhaps that will parlay into accessing the gas giants? I'd love to see the Reef as a hub world with missions/strikes to do too.

1. The Queen is going to be betrayed/greased. The Crow will step in and be the sympathetic avenging figure with no right of inheritance to his sister's ill-begotten throne, which will only increase his bitterness/thirst for revenge. (At least I hope it plays out this way.)

2. We killed a Kell. So where is my Fallen house? The Queen got a house, and Fallen guards. It would be nice to at least be able to summon a Pike. But I'm not really complaining. Those guys are shady anyways.

The Queen and her brother not to mention the entire purple nebula and ship graveyard seems so much like they're meant for more than one location that disappears off the map after watching a single cutscene. It was very interesting how the Queen associated The Traveler with earth, but not with the Awoken. "We gift it too them. In sympathy for their Traveler..." she says.

So yes, I think we'll be going back. I think we're even going to have a Raid on The Reef. I guess the big question is will all this stuff happen without having to buy DLC?

Yeah, the cards mention that Earth born Awoken aren't really considered to be Awoken by those in the Reef. Makes sense in general, and the fact that us Guardian Awoken are essentially from a different time adds on top. Even if we weren't Earth borne, we've been out of the loop for centuries while a culture undoubtedly formed out in the Reef.

We'll most certainly get to play in the Reef--not sure if it will be a social hub or not, but I keep seeing this image being thrown around lately (I think it was from the ViDoc maybe?)

Nah, that's definitely a screen capture from one of the trailers.

Interesting that it's in third person with an unarmed Guardian. Maybe the Reef will serve as a hub like the City for the outer worlds.
