Thorn Sucks (Destiny)

Unfortunately the Thorn is a terrible hand canon.
Low damage. High recoil. Only 6 bullets per mag. The mark of the devourer works too slowly. It's very easy to find a legendary hand canon that's better, does more damage, is more stable, and has more bullets. I have a rare that is better.
If you have the bounty, get ready to dismantle it for upgrade components.

I dont want it because its good, I want it 'cause it's rare and my ridiculous brain demands I have all the things.

But low stability and reload aren't really a problem for a Gunslinger - they have perks that can counter all that.

I hope not. I think I've got the Thorn bounty right now, and it's giving me hell :(

What if you switch to blade dancer? Plus, nothing can make up for the low impact. Thorn takes 2 shots where my rare takes one. Only 6 bullets is a big deal too.

Choose another gun :P
There are quite a few exotics that seem intent on being used in a very specific way for a very specific class set-up and instance.

Depends how good the poison is. Can you just shoot an enemy once and let the poison do the rest of the job?
I just don't want to kill Xyor and come away feeling short changed :(

Not really, it doesn't do much damage at all. In theory it's great because rounds penetrate and you can poison multiple enemies at once, but in practice it doesn't work so well and you are just better off with a legendary with more impact and a bigger clip in my opinion.

Bad. Low impact, high recoil, small clip. Again, a rare or legendary with more impact will be much more effective.
It is just a bad hand canon overall.

That sucks :/
maybe they had issues balancing it before release and nerfed it a whole bunch and ran out of time?
I got lucky and got invective as my exotic bounty. That thing is great.
