And the Grand Master of Cave Sitting ;)

You can't get to level 30 by farming the cave. With one Exotic and the rest Legendary armor you can only hit level 29. The only way to hit level 30 is through raid gear, which can hold as much light as a Exotic.

I think you've missed a joke. It's cool.

There's a giant thread debating the merits of the cave and the loot it expels. Kermit feels people who utilize the cave are "corrupting the game" because now his first assumption upon seeing people with flashy gear will be that they farmed it, instead of came across it naturally. His way of "patching" and restoring balance to the force was to sit in the cave for a few minutes, thus denying the cave shooters their endless stream of loots.

As the thread erupted around his comments, I poked fun at him for it. Here I was thinking he was a fine upstanding member of the community, when in reality he's just another rascal sitting in a cave. How dare he deceive me blah, blah, blah. Oh and by the way, were I able to play, I'd totally be sitting in the cave alongside him.

I've seen the videos, and all those glowing engrams would be MIGHTY tempting to farm. Who doesn't want a pile of loot? But doing that turns Destiny's loot system into Borderlands' loot system. Sort of. I've played Borderlands, and inevitably 99% of all that loot is, well, garbage. Yeah, in Destiny you can break it down and get stuff which apparently I'll really, really want later on. But I'd rather come across both that stuff, and the gear, naturally. It makes that new gun more meaningful, be it because, "OH MY GOD. FINALLY. SOMETHING BETTER." or, "Holy crap! This is awesome!". I can't explain the feeling any better than that. My guns are meaningless in Borderlands. Even the legendary ones. In three or four levels, I'll find something better. Destiny paces it out so you form an attachment with your firearms. I like that, and I wouldn't want to game the system into something it isn't. I'd also hate to see how the pro-cavers are treating the people who don't know about it and randomly stumble in and break the spawns, simply because, "Hey, things to shoot at" or, "Explore tiemz". It's the internet. They can't all be friendly about it. And that's off putting. Especially in a game where random people can come to your aid on a whim. Personally I'm hoping when I finally get to play, this will be a fond memory as it'll have been patched, and the loot system will have received a bit of an overhaul rendering the bait and switch Cryptarch a bit more friendly.

But this is all a huge tangent and now we're way off topic, and I don't mean to go starting another huge debate over a silly cave full of glowy bits (ew?).

Edit: and what do you know, Adios cave.
