Changing Gender/Features after starting a character (Destiny)

I would love to be able to change up my characters features. I rushed to build my character when I got home from the midnight launch and now I wish I would have done things differently. Nearing 75 hours of gameplay I'd cough up some glimmer to be able to have a makeover/gender change in the game.

+1 on the desire

I had the worst hairdo in the beta, it upset me no end. I couldn't see the back of it in character creation and it turned out all sorts of wrong.
Leave us stuck with our horrid face and eyeball scar or whatever, but surely someone in that dump can work some scissors and dye?

I chose what appeared to be a cool 'do for my Titan only to discover it is, in fact, grandma hair.
Worse, my Exo Hunter looks badass from the front, but from the side he looks like a red bird with a gold beak. Like something out of Power Rangers.

I have a Male Human Warlock that looks like he is in his golden years with some nice silvery old man hair.

I was looking for oldman hair for my warlock, and like one of the other posters didn't understand what the back would look like. Instead of long white hair I have this just-above-the-shoulder hair that is straighter and shinier than a shampoo commercial.

I play as the wimpy Prince Adam from He Man.
Wow! Your right, I thought it was more of a Mark Hamil thing

The Traveler can bring us back to life from the faintest hint of our previous self and gift us with magnificent powers. How it can't allow us to alter our gender presentation and personal style preferences is beyond me. Now that's one function, among many others, that the Tower ought to provide for Guardians. Not just things that can and should be done in the main menu.
Fortunately, my Guardian's appearance was settled long ago in the Beta and I was totally satisfied with it going into the final game just as I am to this day. To be perfectly honest, I'd love to look exactly like my Awoken Hunter... or at least with her rocking hairdo and it's color. But that's totally beside the point. It's kinda a bummer that we can't evolve our character's innate appearance, like gender, hair, and markings, just as we do for our armor and otherwise. Everything about the Traveler makes it seem like matter is ours to manipulate, both biological and artificial.
Also, wouldn't it be pretty cool if we could earn different markings like we do class items? Accomplish a daring feat? Get a truly unique marking. Killing thousands upon thousands of Hive? Get some cool Thrall-like makeup. The possibilities there are just as endless as gear itself.
P.S., making gender your bitch is the coolest.

Love the idea of mission-specific tattoos, etc. Not that I'd ever manage to win any of them . . .

Yeah, neither would I. I accepted long ago that my Hunter will likely never obtain all the sort of fancy items other Guardians find and receive. She's scrappy and gets by on the cosmic breadcrumbs that come her way.

"Gender presentation"?
*Reaches for dictionary*
Isn't that redundant with "Personal style preferences"?

This. By the time I start playing Destiny (it'll be a few expansions from now), I want to be able to upgrade my character's biology in ways that would make any splicer green with envy.
P.S., making gender your bitch is the coolest.
"I've got my memories backed up into organelles in my skin cells, I can operate without a functioning digestive tract for up to a week, and my eyes see the full electromagnetic spectrum.
Making gender my bitch was just the beginning."

I picked the bald look because the hair in Destiny is so naff.
It took me three attempts: Alpha, Beta, Released Game but I finally got a look I like.
Nevertheless I'm surprised that you can't change your look after you have set it.
