I've seen a lot of people have bad luck with these two, and I wanted to post to let you know there is hope. Mostly, said hope will be crushed, of course - but not always.

A couple of weeks ago, XUR showed up and had nothing that fit what I was doing at the time (a voidwalker build). I decided to gamble on a helmet engram, reasoning that if I didn't like what I got, I could get some more motes of light and try the next week. Or just do a Sunsinger/solar grenade build, and try the Sunbreaker gauntlets. Well, I got this. At first, I was mildy disappointed because it wasn't suited for my voidwalker. However, shortly after that I started to realize how good a support-tuned Sunsinger could potentially be, and I'm now an orb-generating machine.

So, the second half of the story. This weekend, Xur again had nothing that suited me too well. I decided to gamble again. I'd been REALLY hoping to get some armor piece that was more suited to a voidwalker, so I could have something for that subclass (as you can tell, that first helm really doesn't fit the bill). I didn't know if such a helm even existed, as I hadn't done any research, but gave it a shot. I think you can see where this is going.
