Gun Descriptions are not canon (Destiny)
If the Red Death is supposed to be destroyed on sight by order of the Vanguard (for being a guardian killer), why are they letting Xur sell one mere feet away?

Gun Descriptions are not canon
Dude, Xur himself doesn't seem to be quite canon on the Tower.

Gun Descriptions are not canon
It is said that they don't bother Xur for fear of driving him off. I like to imagine they're just cussing out anyone they see walking away with one of those under their breath.

Gun Descriptions are not canon
I think it's more like, gun descriptions are canon, but gun locations and owners are not. After all, if they were, there wouldn't be multiple instances of the same "one of a kind" gun/gear.

For the same reason you can find BR-85s on the Forward Unto Dawn, and thermal clips in the wreckage of the Hugo Gernsback.

...walking away with a gun under your breath...
;-P

I blame the fact that I added the "under their breath" part as an after-thought immediately after posting it.

Misplaced modifiers are my favorite grammar mistakes because they usually paint such interesting mental images. :)
