Another "help me with Xyor" thread (PS4)

I know I saw a few of you posting about this in the last few weeks (and I wasn't sure whether it is better to start a new thread or revive a dead one)...

I have finally completed the first steps towards acquiring Thorn, and all that remains is to defeat Xyor the Unwed. Anybody (on PS4) available and interested in helping me out tonight around 9-10pm Central time?

I haven't gotten my PS characters leveled up at all or I'd help out (the game is too much fun with one character, I've barely even started a second!), but if you end up having to solo it, I can give you some advice since I soloed it (mostly just to see if I could do it). The way I beat it was basically the same strategy throughout: backtrack. When you get overwhelmed during the rune decoding run back to the stairwell/hallway, and you may even have to run further back when the witches come. Then peek out, take out a witch and then hide. Same goes for the final room: run to the 2nd room back whenever you're getting overwhelmed. If you wait in the adjacent room it'll spawn a bunch of baddies, but if you run through it nothing spawns. Definitely not the most fun way to do it, I much prefer doing it with a group instead, but it does work.

So, yeah -- when are you gonna get your PS4 characters going? You talked a big game about playing on all the platforms before launch :-P

If it makes any difference, I still haven't started my Titan yet so we could run co-op from the beginning for at least one character.

Honestly I didn't expect to get so invested in one character! I keep planning on starting a new one but I jump in to at least do the daily mission each day, and next thing I know it's well after midnight.

If we plan a time though, I'll be there. With my fresh level 1 character, haha.

Thanks Korny. I was looking for you online last night when I finished the crucible portion (around midnight central time) cuz I knew you would be pretty likely to be up for it, but was also kind of glad you (and most of the others I've played with) weren't on so that I wasn't tempted to stay up any later than I already had.

I actually got it that night I posted about it. After sending out invites for about half an hour to DBOers and not finding anybody that wanted to do it, I jumped in to at least try soloing it like Xenos mentioned. Just as I was approaching the first tough area, Korny came back online and helped me get through it.

I quite like the Thorn, even pre-buff! That might be because I haven't experienced any other exotic weapons yet, but still.
