After busting my ass in a mode I would really rather not play in, I finally got to Rank 3 in Iron Banner, and lo and behold, not a damn thing changed in what Lord Saladin is offering. What. The. Actual. Fuck? Just a chest armor and a machine gun. Really? Really? What have I been doing wrong? What do I need to do to get other stuff to show up? I leveled up so I wouldn't have to spend a fortune in Crucible marks for armor and weapons. What gives?

I'm not sure where I read it, but I think the other stuff is random drops from Iron Banner matches now that you're level 3.

Which is kind of awful.

I got the hand cannon, Timur's Lash as a random drop at rank 2.

That being said, if you need legendary armor or a heavy machine gun, the IB ones only cost 10 marks each, compared to 65 for armor from other vendors and 150 for weapons.

Still, if you got to rank 3 already, you probably don't need those items.

I thought you were the king of recognizing skinner boxes and avoiding them. Boy did they run you endlessly for no gain.

To make matters worse, I can't believe you grinded in a gametype you don't enjoy just for the hope of getting armor. C'mon dude, you've never done stuff like this. Don't let Bungie's whack systems get hooks in you.

Pretty good Shard option if they didn't pre-nerf it to Queen level. I doubt I'll hit 3 during this run.

They can't give you all the armor during the event in fear you won't play it next time. I mean if you could buy everything now you would have no rewards to play for. I'm sure if you hit rank 6 the next time they run the event you will be able to get gloves if your lucky they might throw in another gun.

Don't worry though if you want to hit light level 30 it don't matter anyway.

Honestly, I did it because I thought I could get some Hunter gauntlets for only ten Crucible marks so I'd be better equipped for tonight's Raid (I still only have Rare-tier gauntlets and I don't have quite enough marks for to buy a gauntlet from the sellers in the tower). I wouldn't have done it had I known there wouldn't be any real guaranteed benefit to getting to Rank 3 besides a chest armor (I already have good chest armor) and a machine gun (I already have two good machine guns). It's the last time I participate in any of these limited-time events, because it seems like a lot of effort for little benefit. I don't mind regular Crucible, but Iron Banner sucked.
