I wondered this plan of attack myself (having long since chosen HCs as my primary Guardian slayer in the Crucible), but worried about reload times.
The Lord High Fixer hand cannon, which you can buy from the Crucible Quartermaster, has good reload speed that can be boosted to great reload speed with the perk. Stack that with chain of woe and I think you would have zero complaints about reload speed.
