Cabal and Fallen don't need space magic, they have ships! (Destiny)

Ships look like one of those things that got simplified to allow the game to ship given their procedural ready component based nature. Silly Bungie would have been making the game everyone seems to want in 2019 still if someone didn't put their foot down, I'm sure!

We know from LNoS that Bungie can do space combat... I would hope for something a bit deeper like Tie Fighter but even without that, what about a raid in the middle of a giant fleet action vs Cabal or Fallen? Raid roles could involve boarding/disabling certain types of support ships at certain times, or even surface action such as in RotJ. Don't synchronize? Instead of a fail state, new ships can move in to provide shields/covering fire or whatever they are doing for the capital ship target.

You could also make it a little dynamic, have fall back plans/possibilities if you fail to nail execution first go. The raid/fleet could reconfigure based on your failure and reduce the loot and add to play time accordingly.

I felt that the Halo fiction and the boarding missions we did get wanted to be something this insane, but it would take some effort to pull off! Maybe now they have shipped they can loose a team to go buck wild with the technology as it is while everyone else slaves away at hitting the contract milestones. I get the feeling that's what the raid we did get was.
