Do not buy patience and time (Destiny)
Patience and time is not a great gun. I got this from the raid the first time, so I had time to try it out.
It's got a middle of the road 13 shot capacity. The impact is not too bad. However it excels at nothing. The problem is that its signature ability is not very good:
1. You only stay cloaked for about 6 or 7 seconds while zoomed in. You can't stay permanently cloaked, and if you stay zoomed in it will wear off.
2. On zooming in, it takes about a second to actually activate the cloak. This is worst of all, and if you cloaked immediately this gun would actually be good. Because of this, even if you use the gun you don't even spend much time invisible.
3. Your red light is still visible to other players.
In practice, it is useless in the crucible. In PvE almost any other sniper is better in any given situation (Icebreaker / Praedith's Revenge)

what elemental damage does it have? Might be useful if you are soloing a nightfall. Equip Icebreaker for ammo regen, then equip P&T, go invis, pop out of cover.
or maybe that is too much trouble for not enough benefit.

It's arc damage. The invisibility doesn't seem useful, but I do like that it has radar when zoomed. That's the only special thing about it to me. Stability is nice as well.
Wasn't it originally called Closing Time? I liked that better than its current name.

I think a rare or legendary arc sniper would work just as well in that case. Maybe it is less useful for us Hunters, because we can go invisible whenever we want.

In that case, I'll definitely buy it!
Nobody tells Korny what to do!
Also, it's arc damage, and has a bonus ammo capacity, so it'll help with Nightfalls.

If you're a completionist, you'll want it just for the grim card, I'd imagine...

Yeah my plan is to own all the exotics. Worst case scenario down the line I'll scrap it for energy. Plus I currently have 42 strange coins.
Anti-Cody advice. I like it.
I think an invis sniper for Titans has a place in PvE.
I'll definitely check out it's other stats too.

Buy what you want...
It's one of the coolest looking guns around, has a nice mag size when upgraded (and even momentary invis is helpful in PvE), and let's be honest; it's the best thing Xür is selling this weekend. :P
The only reason I'm bummed about it is because I already got it from a raid drop a while ago. Still one of my favorites. YMMV. ;)

^^ THIS ^^
Those coins are burning a hole in my pocket and I want all the things!

Eh, I have 7.. I'm much more interested in good Legendaries. I don't like having to swap out my other 2 weapon slots because I want to use a particular Exotic. The 1 Exotic weapon restriction is bothersome.
That said, itching for Gjallarhorn

What? oh man! I just got it from a drop in the raid last night & was really excited about the invisibility & radar. Well, at least I've got an arc sniper that deals more damage than my previous arc sniper.

They need to switch up the invisibility so that whenever you equip PaT, you suddenly have a ghillie suit until you switch weapons.
You don't become harder to detect. You just get to look cool.

There is a better arc damage sniper out there
And it's called Epitaph. That gun is INSANE. It's also only a legendary, so you can have it and another exotic equipped at the same time.

It's sold at the Vanguard vendor, if anyone is wondering.
I have both now. Comparing stats, P&T has better stability. Epitaph has slightly better impact. Other than that, they're pretty close. P&T has better upgrades in third eye and field scout though.

I received an Epitaph as a reward from the Vanguard with Void damage instead of Arc. It devours minotaurs. But it also spawned with the ability that reduces flinching while scoped and mulligan. Dunno if that's standard or not.

That would actually justify a purchase for me.
*swims in his vault of legendary Titan sashes*

There's not really a "standard" for legendaries - their perks are random. Unless you mean it matches the one sold by the vendor (which seem to be static for some reason).

Yeah, vendor vanilla would be the standard I was referring to.
It's magazine size though....
I do like Epitaph a lot, but I find myself falling back to my Rare Hieracon for it's 6 shot magazine. It is so useful to fire off a slew of shots before having to reload that it makes Epitaph less valid in certain situations.

I have the Epitaph with the extended mag option which gives me 6 in the magazine. It's my go to sniper rifle.

Best thing about the Epitaph...
With the Armor Piercing perk, you can snipe through solid objects, often no matter how thick.
I have a solar and void version of it, and in PvP I often use it over my Praedyth's Revenge. It's great to start shooting towards B from A on Blind Watch, as people tend to camp on the other side of the door...
Like I've said before, you can even snipe the Nexus from behind the giant wall that everyone can run to...
It was actually my first Legendary weapon, and still one of my favorites...

Armor Piercing...
I got a fusion rifle on the nightfall this week that has armor piercing rounds. Have you tried it out on a fusion rifle? I'm interested in seeing how useful it will be.

Tested it out on a number of surfaces. Only goes through enemies, but it's actually REALLY useful for that alone.

Does the invis stack? Can tou crouch-invis, get into position, and then get extra invis time from being Scoped?
Cause that would be pretty handy for nightfalls, I think.

Armor Piercing...
Bet it makes those multi-kill bounties go by quicker. I mean, it's doable anyway, but having it actually hit the second enemy from the start of the shot would sure make it more reliable.

Definitely. Did the weekly with my Void Fusion Rifle, and I was easily killing three or four enemies per shot. The difficulty from the bounty is brought upon by the fact that of the seven bolts that it fires, say four will hit one enemy, killing him, but only three will hit another, leaving him with some health, this fixes that by having each bolt cut through multiple enemies. If you can find one, don't let it go...

Armor Piercing...
So what's the name of this awesome void fusion rifle of which you speak, and where can I get one?

The Void one is called "Final Rest II", and it's supposedly a Dead Orbit weapon, though none of the factions sell fusion rifles.
But look at it wreck...
I do have an arc "Light/Beware" that has Armor Piercing, though I don't think the one in the Vanguard Quartermaster's stock has it, so you just gotta keep your eyes open... Maybe if you get your factions to 5, like the Queen's rep?

Armor Piercing...
I'm pretty sure I have that Dead Orbit FR, but my roll gave me either an Arc or Solar version (two of my Legendary FRs are Arc, the other is from the Raid which is Solar...and I think it also has AP rounds...or maybe I'm just thinking of my Dead Orbit FR)
Also, whenever I do the FR Vanguard bounty I tend to roll with my Vex Mythoclast. Just have to get kills within a second or two after your last for it to count (guess the bounty's logic doesn't use the gametime value for the projectile's creation time?)

It's magazine size though....
But epitaph reloads almost instantly when the mag is empty so... Why need a bigger mag at all?
