I'd Friggin' Kill For A Converter. (Destiny)

I mean yes, the prices must obviously be high, but a Glimmer-to-Rare stuff converter--I think--would be absolutely necessary. I am literally hitting the Glimmer cap every half hour or so. I have to buy stuff I don't need/want, just so I can redeem the bonus items the cryptarch wants! It got so bad at one time I had to buy like, 2 or 3 ships and another vehicle. When I redeemed my leftovers, I literally received a good 8000 Glimmer back from rewards alone! But I have 3 Strange Coins, 1 Shard, 4 or 5 Energy, and that's all stuff I need urgently. 3-5000 per Strange Coin, 5,000 for Shards, 10,000 for Energy. Right?!?
Yes! Would love to see a currency exchange.

Buy ammo synths whenever you have too much glimmer

And worthless. 5 trigger pulls later and you're empty again. What the synths should've done was grant temporary infinite ammo (non-crucible, of course) for those 10 minutes. TOTALLY Badass.

While totally game breaking, I find this no worse than icebreaker, which is basically the same thing.
*Edit: is actually less game-breaking than icebreaker; if it turned an ammo recharge on for the weapon, based on a rate that was tied to DPS (so slower for rocket launchers, faster for AR's), this would actually be a really good idea, although maybe make the cooldown longer than the effect, so say 5 minutes of effect, 20 minute cooldown*

Not sure if serious. If serious, duuuude...
-- Steve uses the ammo synth frequently, but not THAT frequently.

I've gotta come up with something more erotic.

Well, I don't know if your comment was eagerness or mortification, but either way, what's so wrong with it? I said NON-Crucible. I mean, think about it--wouldn't having a brief period of infinite enter-weapon-name-here make it much easier to defeat Phogoth? Tackle Ta'arc? Finish a Heroic/Nightfall Strike on your own? A raid? Good GOD, infinite rockets on a RAID?!?
Tell me what's so wrong(and gamebreaking) about that?
^^vv<><>BA *spend glimmer*

Infinite rockets rather takes the challenge out of a mission, doesn't it?
-- Steve thinks it might be fun once, maybe twice, but after a while it'd just turn strikes and raids into loot caves.
YES. Let me spend glimmer on legendary mats!

I am nearly always maxed out on glimmer, meanwhile: I have piles of cryptarch cash-ins that I just bypass every time I'm there, I have piles upon piles of glimmer-enhancing consumables that I never use because I'm at 25k or near it, and I have piles of ammo synths that I only bought so I could be collecting more glimmer when I kill things.
I don't play THAT much, and I haven't come close to "hitting a ceiling" on anything aspect of the game glimmer. I don't care how ridiculously expensive they are to purchase, just let me use this on something useful to my 'endgame' leveling. It would just be another investment hook to keep me coing back. It wouldn't be the fastest way to get shards or energy, and you could even limit it to one or 2 per week from Xur. With some of those limits in place, it doesn't seem like it could be abused or that it would break/negate/devalue the other methods of earning the materials.
