Game Launch Issues, Mcc and Destiny (Gaming)
What is the deal with all these crappy new game launches? After two days I finally got MCC updates downloaded only to find out the game doesn't really work anyway. I've only played two MP matches since launch :( Fingers crossed this stuff gets fixed in a timely fashion.
I guess the MP failure works out ok though, because I've kinda found my groove with destiny PvP. Except that my connection only allows me to play rumble or skirmish. In hindsight, the destiny issues really weren't that bad at launch as some of these others.
I will say this though. After playing the first two Halo CE missions, its obvious how much more difficult Halo campaign is in comparison to Destiny. Its AMAZING how much the elites move and dance and dodge and duck. Jeez. I had an elite dodge four plasmas thrown immediately one after the other. It was horrible and incredible all at the same time. I've grown so accustomed to Destiny's bland pitiful enemies that I was getting my ass handed to me by grunts.
To me something feels a little off with mcc. Maybe its the porting, maybe its 60FPS, maybe its playing on a bigger better TV than I'm accustomed to with these older games. I still love it, but it doesn't feel the same. Meh, I'll adjust in time.
I think I'll be playing MCC for campaign fun, and swapping to Destiny for MP until things change.

Yep to both points.
Destiny feels like one of the few high profile, highly connected games to pull off a decent launch. The current state of the MCC is shameful, but it's nowhere near alone in launch day failures. And yes, in Destiny you usually get beat either because the enemies out-level you or they swarm you. It's rare that any one unit can take you out. Halo isn't entirely different, but it certainly had some units that could beat you one on one in a fair fight. Elites, as mentioned, or all those times a Jackal would blast me with an overcharged shot only to follow it up with rapid fire cutting me down before I could get to cover. Destiny doesn't really have anything like that...
One thing I would love to see for Destiny would be a doubling or tripling of the damage done by enemy grenades. Right now, on non-weekly modes, enemy grenades are a joke. I don't even bother dodging them. Meanwhile I'm still chunking Halo 1 level bombs of doom... It's just not fair... to the enemy. The result here is that we all took Grunts semi-seriously in Halo because they could get the drop on you, sticking a grenade to your face, where you never have to worry nearly so much about Dregs or other low level units in Destiny.

You'd think with four arms that those Fallen Vandals could toss 2 grenades while continuing to shoot at you. I think there are only two enemy grenades right? Dregs with those blue arc grenades and Hobgoblins with the void grenades. No hive or cabal grenades? The grenades are more like firecrackers, they just kinda make you jump but you don't have to really move to be safe.
Could you imagine the PvE gameplay if all the enemies could use the grenade types we have available? I can just imagine wizards tossing one of those tracking warlock grenades when you are down to your last bit of health and then rushing to get away.

They need to have grenades that look like purple engrams. In the middle of a fight you see it, excitedly run toward it, then blam.

I'm not a fan of the series but I understand Ubisoft shat the bed bigtime with AC:Unity as well.
I think publishers will continue to shovel crap out the door because they've figured out that regardless of how atrocious the failure or how loud the outcry is, people will just keep buying the stuff. And at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
Did CoD: AW have any issues?

Grenades hurt when you are low level
and you are often having grenades tossed at you by level 2 dregs.
I don't want the gameplay to be any harder. I have a daily shopping list of: story missions, patrols, survive strikes, kill mr x, etc, etc. Times 3 characters. All with heroic modifiers on.
This isn't a game: it's a job.

Ubi's stock took a 9% hit after Unity's reception. Companies notice that stuff.
It might just be that the people responsible for it get less money to play with next time or moved to a lower risk project or some such.
You can see how it happens though. All games are broken 3 months before release. Except for Destiny, where they seemed to have budgeted for a looooong polish period based on how slick the Alpha was, probably done by aggressively cutting the scope back early on based on preview material. Right choice IMHO.
Everyone involved probably thinks it will pull together and optimization and polish will sort it out. Maybe even hoping the day 1 will sort out issues that make it onto the disc. I imagine the logistics and printing costs alone for AC:U dwarf most projects though and would make last minute changes/delays prohibitive. (It's not just you who loses money, but your retailers).
