If you're short on Strange Coins and want to be strategic in your purchases:
CLASS ITEMS
Titan:
No Backup Plans (Gauntlets) // 13sc
-Strength: 81/91
Average 67-93
Hunter:
Young Ahamkara's Spine (Gauntlets) // 13sc
-Discipline: 88/99
Good 67-93
Warlock:
Voidfang Vestments (Chest) // 13sc
-Strength: 116/131
Below Average 100-140
I think this is the first time the Young Ahamkara's Spine(H) has been available through XUR. I've seen slightly better in the wild, but you may be waiting a while as it is only 5 off the theoretical maximum.
There were better Voidfang Vestments(W) available recently, and a greater than 50% liklihood there will be better ones the next time it arrives - no buy.
No Backup Plans(T)'s armour stat is right in the middle of the range. I haven't personally seen better yet (Exotic Gauntlets seem rare). 50/50 on this. Get it if you like the perks and have the coins but expect to replace it.

Mine only go up to 91, so getting some with 99 should be good. A number of Hunter builds that I've seen tend to veer away from Discipline, so the perk for tripmines and a solid discipline rating make this a worthwhile purchase.
There were better Voidfang Vestments(W) available recently, and a greater than 50% likelihood there will be better ones the next time it arrives - no buy.
As I've said before, even with the grenade energy perk, I don't see a whole lot of value in this chestpiece... Except in Iron Banner, where the Axion bolts can prove to be really annoying. Having bought two (upgraded the stats once already), I haven't really noticed any increased usefulness to care for it...

Mine goes up to 95. Titans have the distinction of pretty much all of their gear being a "must have", and for Defenders who have high Strength and like to be on the move, you NEED these gauntlets. The increase of Force Barrier is extremely useful because you can generate more orbs... Not to mention the reload speed perks stack, and you get increase melee speed... You really can't go wrong...

I recently started playing around as a defender titan. I'm amazed at the number of people who charge at me in my bubble when they're pretty much guaranteed to lose.
I'm going to pick up No Backup Plans, but it feels disingenuous to use them with Plan C. :P

Do most people get to a place where they don't really care what Xur is selling anymore? I sometimes check to see if he has a good weapon, but I'm only really willing to replace my Special Weapon exotic right now. I have my one exotic armor piece that I am pretty happy with, and already upgraded a sparrow.

Level 30 warlock here checking in for my Praxic welfare handout. I've tried and failed to earn mine.
On a serious note, I have been buying telemetries only lately it seems. I'm only missing Plan C and the Vex Mythoclast from the available exotics on xbox so I haven't seen a need to buy much. Still waiting on Praxic so I can finish off my exotic armor set.

Praxic is very cool, and my go to for PvE. I wish Xur would sell it so all my sunbro's and I could look like an army of space-crusaders. Because political incorrectness.
Also, voidfang is the new sunbreaker; this is the fifth time Xur has sold it, to sunbreaker's three.

I love the Voidfang Vestments at least. I mainly play as a Voidwalker for crucible so those heat-seeking axion bolts net me more kills than I should get. It amuses me everytime to watch someone hide and then die because of these grenades tracking them down.

Plus damn does that thing give you a lot of strength. It makes for a pretty wicked sunsinger build too when you get free grenades on spawn and shields all the time.

Yeah, I'm struggling a bit this time. I've got 22 coins, and sorta want to get one more to pick up the Mida, but at the same time I'm really happy with my current weapons.
Also I love the cool look of those Hunter gloves, but I don't have a chest leveled enough yet to make room for exotic gloves....maybe I'll pick up the Titan gloves instead....we'll see.
Nice, I've got enough for the MIDI and the Titan armor. Thanks for posting this, Korny!

Mida Multi-Tool - Pretty good.

I still haven't unlocked the signature ability, but it seems to have the makings of an incredibly fast, high impact SR. Felt kind of like a long range hand cannon with a huge clip. Third eye is very nice.
All that said, I don't think it's quite good enough to merit an exotic slot, and I primarily use SR's. VoC certainly outclasses it IMO.

Mida Multi-Tool - Pretty good.
by unoudid , Somewhere over the rainbow, Friday, November 21, 2014, 07:51 (3831 days ago) @ iconicbanana
It's an awesome gun... but VoC is better overall and frees up your exotic slot.
With that said, it's a blast to play with and will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. The radar is nice and it can help you move faster in PvP

That sounds hot, as in arousing. I had the VoC but didn't really like it - and the full auto seemed silly when I knew the gun's ROF already.
Now, MIDI has Third Eye (which I love) plus a hair-trigger? Now that's something I can get behind.

Well, if the suggestion that it allows firing as fast as you can pull the trigger is true, it would allow this gun to fire a LOT faster than a typical scout rifle (though the recoil from doing so would probably balance things out somewhat).

There is almost zero recoil on it, and it does fire about as fast as a scout rifle can. The offset is it doesn't hit quite as hard as a VoC or Cryptic Dragon.

Not having VoC I can't compare it, but I love the way MIDA feels and the sight on it. I can just pop stuff off super fast. I did the level 28 story mission with it today, and it was a breeze, and that was with no upgrades.
It is certainly better than any other scout rifle I have.

I finally obtained it this morning after executing a good but time-consuming plan to make enough coins. No upgrades yet.
Aiming is VERY fast, damage and stability seem good, decent size mag, and the reload is super fast. I can't find anything to complain about.
There's nothing particularly unusual about it, it's just a really solid scout rifle. It's easily the best one I've used.

It seems a little bland to me. I like the A1 vanguard scout rifle, at least for PvE. But I'm thinking Mida might be better for PvP with the quick aim, rate of fire, and better stability. I got it anyway since I had the coinage.

Just unlocked the signature ability, and I'm really loving it so far for all the reasons mentioned above. One nice thing is synergy with No Backup Plans. Reload is so fast on MIDA, you don't care that No Backup Plans only boosts reload on secondary weapons.
Makes for a nasty, super-fast build.

Also, if you are a shoulder charging titan striker, the agility boost is pretty rad. You will improve your tackling game from Miami Dolphins standards to Arizona Cardinals standards.

Just genuinely curious. I could still see high agility being very useful for shoulder charge, even without faster sprint (nothing in the game changes sprint speed as I understand it).

"I still haven't unlocked the signature ability, but it seems to have the makings of an incredibly fast, high impact SR. Felt kind of like a long range hand cannon with a huge clip. Third eye is very nice."
This is misleading. It's actually very low impact compared to a handcannon... 38 for the multitool and ~80 for cannons. It also has worst in class range 58, which is about 20 lower than most rifles. The range is comparable to well-scoped cannons.

I read that on reddit too I think; I can say it didn't feel as rough as they made it out, but most of the time I used it was in PvE, so I can't speak with any great certainty on its PvP stats. That's also still pretty good in PvP; you could score a kill in 4 shots with enough headshots, right? It fires very fast.

It's my favorite gun.
The agility boost is nice, and it's pretty accurate.
The damage is a tad weaker, but you get a larger clip.
In PVP I like the always on radar.
If the flip out radar did something, that would be cool and actually make it exotic, but as it, it's a solid gun.
