Vex Mythoclast in Skirmish (Destiny)

Ran up against a team with Raga and Iconic tonight. Pretty sure at least two of them were using that? What a miserable experience. Watching Raga get mowed down by one while he was wielding a machine gun took the cake.
Bungie, I'm sure that gun is fun for a lot of people, but I suspect it's a serious detriment to many more. Maybe my brain is playing tricks on me with how effective it really is, but regardless I wish it didn't fucking exist, because it's always a huge downer on at least my enjoyment.

To be fair I only pulled the trigger first! :/ I am having a terrible night in the Crucible though. So much so that I almost posted another rant on Blind Watch. I hate that map now for Control. Hate!!

To be fair, all my power comes from the other super OP fusion rifle, which is currently in the shop. Should have brought my mythoclast.

I just went up against a Mythoclast guy in Rumble. Fighting him one one one over and over really showed how powerful that gun is! It's like being hit by a fusion rifle but without the warning or seemingly any charge time. Next game I went up against two guys with the gun and they easily tore the rest of us up. Each had double the kills of the other three of us, and I was playing well!
This thing needs a nerd. Badly.

Also, I disagree. I've gone up against Mythoclast users, and the gun is scary, to be sure, but the bolts travel slowly. The gun has a strong weakness to strafing and distance. Really, I've had a tougher time against Hawkmoon, Thorn, VoC, Plan C, Suros, Found Verdict, and Last Word than I've had against anyone with a Mythoclast. The thing about Mythoclast is that people in Crucible tend to run towards the person using it, which helps because the recoil pushes its shots upwards, leading to easy headshot kills.
Just don't run straight towards enemies. I found it to be a poor Iron Banner weapon because the DPS was fairly low when stacked against other weapons...
Using it is fun, though, because it reminds me of the Plasma Repeater from Reach, only with a nastier bite...
Also, I noticed an odd quirk that can lead to misconceptions about its power. When someone else is using it, the 21-round mag sounds like it only fires eight or nine rounds. When you're being hit by it, it might sound like the person's shot at you three or four times, when they've probably pumped out nine or ten rounds.... Audio bug, most likely.

To me it felt like their kills were pratically effortless. Every once in a while I'd see some some spread, but 95% of the time I just melted to a laser straight beam of energy streaking with no decernable delay across fairly long distances. I certainly wasn't running at these people! They were clear and away the most powerful players on the map because of the weapon they had. I think The Last Word is slightly overpowered but I could barely get them even with it...

Korny it was buffed AFTER Iron Banner

That was a damage buff for PVE, I thought. Using it in regular Crucible, My K/D is about the same with it before the update, as are my encounters against/with. I'd still rather go in with a good Timur's Lash. The only difference that I've noticed is how many people seem to be getting one...
Of course, my experience doesn't trump or negate the experience of others (especially across consoles), but I've been using and been on the receiving end of them for a while, and I've honestly not noticed much of a difference...
HOWEVER, I haven't played against a Skirmish team that has more than one. Putting two of them close to one another is surely as annoying as the team that used Zombie Apocalypse in pairs during the Iron Banner...

From the patch notes, it got an Attack Buff, making it more powerful in PvE and a boost to base damage. Its not made clear whether thats PvE, PvP or both, but since is seems to be separate to Attack, I would imagine it's both?

A number of Exotics have apparently received a boost to Base Damage (Reportedly at 272+) from what I believe was 260. I think this is because it's tougher to Max them, and they level very slowly. This makes them more useful than Legendaries from the get-go, though not much. Still, it's PvE.
Mythoclast is the only one that got the Attack Buff, now doing 323 instead of 300. It's a strictly PvE (possibly Iron Banner) change to make it the "best" PvE weapon in the game, though it does still have some drawbacks... But this Nightfall, boy... Whoo. Takes about ten minutes, clearing every last enemy...

Someone on reddit did a test that showed the mytho does more in PvP as well.

Interesting. I wonder if that is inherent to the Attack buff. It's definitely minor (4 points body, 6 for head), but it can definitely trump a Suros at close range now (I was holding my own against them before, but I chalked it up to panicked enemies). I wonder how their firing rates compare, and if the projectile speed factors into encounters and damage output (close/medium range)...
Either way, it's still more or less the same weapon, but it stands a better chance against Auto Rifles at close range. I wonder if the Vex is perceived as more powerful than a Suros at Range because it's unique, in sound, projectile, and Primary status (being compared to Auto Rifles as opposed to Fusion Rifles, which kill much faster, and at similar range)...

Don't forge Suros was nerfed. I JUST upgraded it to the damage for the bottom half of the clip, and then they make it only matter on the last 4 shots. I was getting destroyed by mytho's last night.

I have such bad luck with the RNG. I keep getting Mythoclasts instead of Hawkmoon or Gjallarhorn. Oh well, at least they are good for exotic shards.

Yeah, I worry that their drop rate has increased. Past few raids I've done post-patch, at least two people have been getting them (I got another one tonight). Must be in preparation for the new raid, but considering that I can outgun a Suros (though it does take skill, as you have to lead the target), I fear that more and more people will be using it in Crucible, leading to an ill-conceived nerf...

My team was picking one up just about every raid before the patch. It's just never me that gets it. Not sure that they've changed it, I just think the RNG is R.

I killed it in control!
I think this is a temporary problem, as the expansion weapons will have increased damage.

thanks for the tip!

They'll have increased attack power. Not relevant for PvP, outside of Iron Banner.
