The last patch decreased the rate at which you increase your faction ranks.

That.. that was just the Cryptarch, right? I hope.

That was my understanding. Cryptarch rank increases more slowly, but yields better payouts. I believe Vanguard rank progress is unchanged.

That should read "has the potential to yield better payouts" it's still all based on the lovable RNG factor.
