I favor Scout Rifles and the first one I started upgrading was A.1F19X-Ryl with Field Scout and Firefly. I love having 27 rounds in my Scout Rifle, so I kept it for my primary and passed The Calling off to my alt Titan without much thought.

Turns out The Calling has Mulligan (missed shots have a chance to return to magazine), Explosive Rounds, AND Firefly. Explosive Rounds and Firefly.

Explosive Rounds and Firefly.

I know I'm not doing that much damage to any single target, but I just love that combination on clusters of enemies. I'm thinking of maxing it in preparation for Crota's End, in anticipation of Thralls.

BOOM BOOM BOOOOM! BOOM.

It's hard picking a favorite weapon in this game. Fatebringer is the weapon I use the most since explosive headshots on a headshot-machine is pretty amazing. I really like Mythoclast a lot, but mostly because it's probably the most unique gun in the game.

Well, that and it melts everything. It's a nice alternative in crucible while I wait for them to fix my damn pocket infinity.

I actually prefer Last Word or Fatebringer in Crucible. The poor range with the Mythoclast doesn't gel with my playstyle for Crucible.

I don't think its range is so much the issue for me; the problem I generally have with it is rounding corners. The ttk is ridiculous 1 on 1 from mid-to-close, especially since the recent buff.

Man, I would have said my A.1F19X-Ryl is probably my favorite (though it doesn't see much use now that I've got some primaries that do elemental damage), but now that I know there's a scout rifle out there that has firefly AND explosive rounds, my alphabet soup rifle just doesn't sound as cool.

I liked Bad Juju before the patch... Now it's even better...

I was really surprised by how much I like the Monte Carlo, and I want to level it up all the way. Beautiful sights, excellent stability, and all the right perks and upgrades that I look for... Gonna really love it for my Titan/Hunter once I can upgrade it with Xur...

Also, Corrective Measure... I thought The Swarm was the only MG that I'd ever like, but the Corrective Measure in my hands guarantees a lot of blood... In fact, I can't begin to tell you how fun it is to see a blade dancer approach me when I've got it loaded. Drops them like that.

Yeah, I've put away my Gjallarhorn in PvP in favor of the Corrective Measure, and even Jolder's Hammer didn't trump it for me, so I'd say that that's my current favorite weapon...

I have the most fun with my Mythoclast, but the gun I'd hate to lose more than any other is the Icebreaker. It's been a literal game changer for me. So much of my playstyle and approach to many of the missions in the game is dependent on that weapon.

That being said, I just got a Gjallarhorn from the raid last night. Looking forward to melting faces with it :)

Shadow Price is great, it has enough stability to keep it on target relatively easily, enough range to give scout rifles a run for their money, and a good rate of fire to dish out the pain.

The icebreaker is a great weapon for strikes, but otherwise I don't like it all that much.

6 rounds in the mag, faster reloads when empty and kills decrease grenade cool down. I leveled it for my first vault run, and ended up with over 430 kills. That was more then the seasoned raid veterans with VoC and Mythoclasts who accompanied me.

Even now that I have migrated to Timurs lash and my own VoC I still will pull out this gun in PVP just because I know when I do manage to kill people with it they know they were beaten fair and square.

Wish there was a HC with stats similar to bad juju.

As a Scout Rifle junkie, I've been having a surprisingly great time with Fatebringer, and it's only getting better every time it upgrades. Firefly really is impressive on it, and I'll definitely need to check out the Explosive Rounds (I had been avoiding them because I was so underwhelmed when I first tried them around launch).

Damn. I just picked up a 2nd version of The Calling on Co-Op night doing the daily (from a Legendary Engram) and it rolled with Explosive Rounds, Firefly and ... Final Round... :( I never let my Scout Rifle get down to the last round as I'm an overly cautious reloader, but the other two explodey perks makes me happy.

My first roll of The Calling also came from a Legendary Engram, but the notable perks are Mulligan, Field Scout and Outlaw (outlaw). I wish I could mate the two and create a monster child with Mulligan, Field Scout and Firefly. That would just make my damn day. Although the lack of Outlaw on my new version is noticeable, I can counteract it with my War Machine perk on Defender class (all weapons reload and ready blindingly fast when Force Barrier is active).

TL;DR: I fucking love Scout Rifles, and The Calling is my bo.

Don't overlook explosive rounds. They were bugged before and decreased damage, but now they add extra. In fact, on Fatebringer it is so good, that I can kill many enemies with a BODY SHOT, because the explosive round damage adds enough to take them out. That might turn me into a lazy shooter, but the firefly perk adds even MORE benefit on headshots.

Both of those are wicked combos.

Hmm. I'll have to have another look at explosive rounds then. Back when I tested them the damage to a single target came out the same (and possibly less for headshots, critical hit for the bullet but no critical damage for the explosion effect, I think...) but would have been a bit higher if the explosions did some damage to a tight group.

Here's what happens currently:

If I shoot a level 28 Cabal in the head with explosive rounds off, it does not die. With explosive rounds, it dies in one shot. It appears that the critical damage is applied, then the explosive damage.

This is important, because firefly only activates when the kill is with a critical hit. I can headshot the cabal, but since the explosive rounds are applied second, and thus is the damage that actually kills it, firefly does not activate. If the critical damage is enough to kill, explosive rounds don't go off, and firefly activates.

Therefore, explosive rounds increases damage to a single target, but possibly at the expense of the firefly perk if you are facing enemies that can otherwise take a headshot and live.

Within the first few shots on the Mars L28 daily mission (even with the weapon under-leveled) I already fell in love with all the explosions. Amazing! So thanks for letting me know. The Last Word. It's fun to shoot and powerful. Plus it looks so good. I only swap it out on my hunter if I need something with more range or I need to use Icebreaker. The Devil You Know is a close second.

Since the buff I've also been really enjoying Bad Juju. It's my warlock's main primary.

After that probably my 42 round Shadow Price. It's done me well on the raid and in crucible. I'm sad that it will eventually become obsolete.

The Devil You Know. I have two, a store bought with the great range, and a random with explosive rounds. I love them both.

Icebreaker is a must have for my style.

I used to hate hand cannons because I didn't bother to figure them out when I was having success with pulse rifles and later ARs. Now, I prefer them for most situations. That's another thing I really like about Destiny. It is a phenomenally flexible and diverse weapon system.

Was the first exotic I ever recieved, praise be RNGesus, and I love it. The way it handles, fires, reloads, the scope are all very appealing to me. Second to this, I recently got hard light during the last iron banner event, since the stability upgrade it handles really well but, I do think it's impact is some what lacking.

Hard light is not as fast as the fastest ARs and doesn't deal as much impact as the slower ones, it's kind of in the middle.
It does sound awesome since the update though.

Once I complete the thorn bounty strike and hand it in next week, I'd like to get very familiar with it.
