Uh-Uh. You WISH. *NSFW* (Destiny)
I was just doing the Control Bounties(Capture 10 Zones, Play 5 games) and decided to go into matchmaking to continue. The game finds a match and I warp jump through the galaxy, ending up on Mars. The screen can't even fade in yet, and all I hear is the alarm. Y'know, the one that signifies that the enemy has all capture zones?
My Guardian is teleporting in, I look down at the corner--EIGHTEEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TO FOUR HUNDRED.
Fuck no.
Oh, fuck no.
And I mean, FUCK no.
While I'm holding Y to get out, I hear Shaxx:
"You're not dead yet, Guardian! Pick it u--"
Uh-uh. Fuck that. You out of your mind?
Bungie. Come on, man. Your system needs a little more discretion and objectivity than that. There's close matches, there's recent drop-outs, and then there's lost causes.
Seriously.
So Slaughter Rules aren't working?
From the BWU:
If one team is grossly under-performing, the session is dissolved in favor of matchmaking
How much more gross can it get than 18k to 400?

I'm pretty sure that's after the game ends.
That's only what matchmaking does does after game end
I don't think Bungie is addressing joining into lost-cause games. At least they haven't spoken of it as far as I remember, my guess is they are putting resources elsewhere and letting that go.
Oh...

That makes WAYYY more sense...
I was with you RC. I thought by "dissolve" that they would literally just end the game like a mercy rule. All players would dissolve into space bits and return to matchmaking... But now I get it. Those people all get disseminated back to matchmaking instead of sticking together
So Slaughter Rules aren't working?
But they don't work outside of that group? I've joined that game--now that's on my record, and if I didn't fuck off the second I joined, that loss would've been on there. Hell, it might be on there, anyway!
POST EDIT: IT FUCKING IS.
I now have a permanent dip in all of my stats simply because of when I pressed 'a'. That's not right.
Slaughter rules don't always make necessities either. I was once with a team on Skirmish, I believe. We kicked their asses up and down the line, and decided to stay. The next game, they beat us! The score was closer, but still. Skill isn't everything-sometimes, good people have bad days and vice versa.
Yes. Join in progress is too often awful for joiners. :(
