That reminded me of something that happened to me recently:
My Sparrow Turned Against Me
On a side note, semi related, you can no longer collide with people on sparrows whilst you are on yours.
I was phasing through a person earlier, he was just sat on his and I was just zooming through him.
(although he might of been returning to orbit and just lagging)
But, I was definitely not colliding with him.

It's always been that way. Unless you are in a fireteam with them you phase right through. I think they did that to prevent griefing.
