I wonder how much pressure Bungie feels in trying to distance Destiny multiplayer from Halo? They seem to have friendly soccer games with 343i, but I wonder how much their respective legal departments worry about IP/product infringement?
Just wild speculation, there.
My understanding is that Oddball came from "Kill the Man with the Ball" in Marathon, might have been in Myth in some form too.
Why nobody has implemented the "pile on greg" gametype yet in and subsequent game releases is a mystery.
