Hunter knife throw (Destiny)

Why does this not count as a Melee attack?
Do you think it should? Why/ why not?

Would make that "kill (number) guardians with Melee attack" bounty a lot easier to complete.

The really weird part is it only doesn't count in Crucible. Works for all non-Crucible bounties just fine.
